Parable Of Wheat And Tares (Weeds)

Be ready for the “Harvest”, as we don’t know the day or the hour when Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior will return.

Matthew_13_30

Matthew 13:24-30
He presented another parable to them: “The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field.  But while people were sleeping, his enemy came, sowed weeds among the wheat, and left.  When the plants sprouted and produced grain, then the weeds also appeared.  The landowner’s slaves came to him and said, ‘Master, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Then where did the weeds come from?’ “‘An enemy did this!’ he told them. “‘So, do you want us to go and gather them up?’ the slaves asked him.  “‘No,’ he said. ‘When you gather up the weeds, you might also uproot the wheat with them.  Let both grow together until the harvest.

burning in hellrewards_in_heaven

At harvest time I’ll tell the reapers: Gather the weeds first and tie them in bundles to burn them, but store the wheat in my barn.’”

Matthew 24:29-31

“Immediately after the tribulation of those days: The sun will be darkened,
and the moon will not shed its light; the stars will fall from the sky,
and the celestial powers will be shaken.
“Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the peoples of the earth will mourn; and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.  He will send out His angels with a loud trumpet, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.

Revelation 20

revelation_20

Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven with the key to the abyss and a great chain in his hand.  He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for 1,000 years.  He threw him into the abyss, closed it, and put a seal on it so that he would no longer deceive the nations until the 1,000 years were completed. After that, he must be released for a short time.

1000_Year_Reign

Then I saw thrones, and people seated on them who were given authority to judge. I also saw the people who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of God’s word, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and who had not accepted the mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with the Messiah for 1,000 years. The rest of the dead did not come to life until the 1,000 years were completed. This is the first resurrection.  Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of the Messiah, and they will reign with Him for 1,000 years.

When the 1,000 years are completed, Satan will be released from his prison  and will go out to deceive the nations at the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them for battle. Their number is like the sand of the sea.  They came up over the surface of the earth and surrounded the encampment of the saints, the beloved city. Then fire came down from heaven and consumed them.

Thrown_Into_Lake_Of_Fire

The Devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet are, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

Then I saw a great white throne and One seated on it. Earth and heaven fled from His presence, and no place was found for them.  I also saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life, and the dead were judged according to their works by what was written in the books.

Then the sea gave up its dead, and Death and Hades gave up their dead; all were judged according to their works.  Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.  And anyone not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.

Revelation 21

new_heaven_and_new_earthRevelation21_New_Heaven_New_Earth

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea no longer existed.  I also saw the Holy City, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared like a bride adorned for her husband.

Then I heard a loud voice from the throne:  Look! God’s dwelling is with humanity,
and He will live with them.  They will be His people,
and God Himself will be with them and be their God.
He will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
Death will no longer exist; grief, crying, and pain will exist no longer,
because the previous things have passed away.
Then the One seated on the throne said, “Look! I am making everything new.” He also said, “Write, because these words are faithful and true.” And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give water as a gift to the thirsty from the spring of life.  The victor will inherit these things, and I will be his God, and he will be My son.  But the cowards, unbelievers, vile, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars—their share will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”

Then one of the seven angels, who had held the seven bowls filled with the seven last plagues, came and spoke with me: “Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.”  He then carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,  arrayed with God’s glory. Her radiance was like a very precious stone, like a jasper stone, bright as crystal. The city had a massive high wall, with 12 gates. Twelve angels were at the gates; the names of the 12 tribes of Israel’s sons were inscribed on the gates.  There were three gates on the east, three gates on the north, three gates on the south, and three gates on the west.  The city wall had 12 foundations, and the 12 names of the Lamb’s 12 apostles were on the foundations.

The one who spoke with me had a gold measuring rod to measure the city, its gates, and its wall.  The city is laid out in a square; its length and width are the same. He measured the city with the rod at 12,000 stadia. Its length, width, and height are equal.  Then he measured its wall, 144 cubits according to human measurement, which the angel used. The building material of its wall was jasper, and the city was pure gold like clear glass.

The foundations of the city wall were adorned with every kind of precious stone:  the first foundation jasper,  the second sapphire,
the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald,
the fifth sardonyx, the sixth carnelian,
the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl,
the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase,
the eleventh jacinth, the twelfth amethyst.
The 12 gates are 12 pearls; each individual gate was made of a single pearl. The broad street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.

I did not see a sanctuary in it, because the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb are its sanctuary.  The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, because God’s glory illuminates it, and its lamp is the Lamb.  The nations will walk in its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it.  Each day its gates will never close because it will never be night there.  They will bring the glory and honor of the nations into it. Nothing profane will ever enter it: no one who does what is vile or false, but only those written in the Lamb’s book of life.

    1. Excellent post James and Bette’s is an excellent video. It’s certainly Holy Spirit! Just had this conversation yesterday with a couple sisters over the body being at odds. Part of what we got was a spirit of competition in the body. That’s crazy when we are all to be walking together……..I don’t mean the race for the prize set before us, but an awful spirit that divides along with envy, pride etc. which leads to a hardened heart etc.

  1. These Scriptures equate the New Jerusalem with the bride of the Lamb:

“‘Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.’ He then carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, arrayed with God’s glory. Her radiance was like a very precious stone, like a jasper stone, bright as crystal.”

That must mean the saints will live there on the new earth. What makes a city? Its walls and buildings, or its inhabitants?

    1. I debated this issue with some quite learned fellows in the bible but i have not gotten a satisfactory answer to refute the very literal passage Mike refers to above. Most people go to circular reasoning to continue with the idea that the church is the bride that this passage negates.

But the bible says by 2-3 witnesses or conforming passages truth will be established. Are there any coming to your mind dear people here?

      1. “Let us be glad, rejoice, and give Him glory, because the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has prepared herself. She was given fine linen to wear, bright and pure. For the fine linen represents the righteous acts of the saints.” – Revelation 19:7-8

      2. Waiting on ya’ll and praying. This is an area I’ve always wondered about. Been a crazy, fast day and time to sit and soak.

My video downloader is starting to block most Christian content:(

  2. This post was inspired by a youtube movie I watched last night. I don’t recall the name; otherwise I’d share it here. The movie depicted many of the things from the scripture referenced in this post. I did not know that the movie was a vision given to someone so they would repent before it was too late. In this movie, everyone was forced to work on the Sabath which was changed from Saturday to Sunday in this movie. If anyone refused to work on Saturday, they were imprisoned or killed. Everyone had to have a Global Government ID card to buy or sell anything. They did an excellent job depicting “The Day of the Lord” — when Jesus returned to gather those that were ready and those that “Died in Christ”. They showed the terror in the eyes of this person, when they rose from the dead after the 1000 year reign and were thrown into the lake of fire.

This movie was in Spanish and I think made in Brazil. They had english voice-overs.

If the title comes to me, I will share it.

  6. Those of you with farming background might know what is distinct with tares compared to normal wheat……..drum roll……dum dum dum….tadaaaa…….they have no content..empty shells they are.

So the Lord makes his way known in nature also!

    1. Good one Stig! I learn so much here from everyone. When I was about 5, my dad took me to the farm with him to check the water. He had a handful of wheat. He blew on it gently and could tell when it was ready. Back then “moisture count” wasn’t as meaningful as it is today:)
Hmmmm……….like Holy Spirit breathes on us…….wow!

  7. I don’t know if anyone else has been experiencing friends and friends of friends etc asking for prayer over sons and daughters, even grandkids becoming possessed????
Certainly a prayer area very needed. There’s now 3 of them in a short time , nope 5 forgot about the little ones. These are giving their lives to the enemy at school clubs and/or issues coming via TV.

It’s sad but we’ve not seen anything yet………..I will say I’m a bit taken aback at the number in just those I’m in contact with over this short period. And, all of these raised by believers yet some are divorced and the “other” parent lets them get into things that are dangerous to the soul. 😦

    1. A woman from Texas over at Watchman’s cry did a test on her pupils about marriage. And from the whole class id remember only 1 was for marriage though she tried to lead them towards a biblical interpretation.

Id say the answer is tares, they are empty shells not filled with content since growing up. Remember what was said in the books of Moses, teach your children in the Lords ways since small. Nowadays television, smart phones, entertainment takes Jesus place. You have empty shells that will be filled by evil dirt and unclean spirits as result!

Jesus chases out spirits just by his presence and he said we could do Even mightier deeds IF we but believe in him. Results come as they come, we might not see them though!

      1. That’s for sure Stig! So far in a couple of classrooms (small towns) in TX they are still teaching biblical principles. And the kids are being bold for Jesus! I feel for the kids and the teachers. Tough place to be these days.

    1. My thoughts too Stig. Isn’t necessarily NK. Just the 3 at a time with one failing has me shook pretty good. It was so clear. Going to pray about this and see if I can hear more from Holy Spirit on this. The ones I saw were in the E in the dream from where I was. Then again……praying for the gift of interpreting.

      1. I just happened by this video also…separate from seeing it here. I wasn’t looking for it, it was just there in front of my face. I feel in my spirit…something is not right with this man. he seems to be in the background in most pictures as the video continues…but my spirit tells me he’s not at all in the background in reality.

Thank You Jesus for warning us of what we need to know.

    1. Great post Mike. I like the notes about going deeper in our faith — we all certainly need to do that. We can ask the Lord for discernment in all areas, as it will truly be needed in days coming quickly.

    1. Very good Mike. I’m going to share it via email to a family member in a not so awake church…….too many misinterpret Romans 13. The main area I hear is “when in Rome……….” “Jesus obeyed by rendering to Caesar”………..so many are falling for this and it is coming from the pulpit

      Liked by 1 person

      1. Hi Sonshine, I almost included “rendering to Caesar” in the article too. Jesus was very precise in his wording: Render to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s. But who determines what belongs to Caesar and what belongs to God? God does!

    THE ARMOR OF GOD
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Ephesians 6:13

In the valley stood a ten-foot-tall giant, bellowing out threats against God’s people and mocking their God. “Send one man out to fight me,” he roared. “If I win, you will serve us. If he wins, we will be your slaves.”

If the physical presence of Goliath wasn’t daunting enough, the stakes for Israel were. It would be an all-or-nothing fight for the future of the people. On top of that, he mocked God. The fight would be a showdown between the giant’s pagan gods and the God of Israel.

Courageous David decided to face the monster. King Saul, looking at David’s physical disadvantage, insisted the young man take his armor. But David knew the spiritual battle was more crucial than the physical battle. Faith in God, not superior weaponry, would be his salvation. David stepped out in the name of God, and the giant fell.

Most of us are so focused on our physical circumstances that we fail to see the basic spiritual challenges before us. We spend our energies trying to make ends meet. We exhaust ourselves by constant activity. We are so distracted and frightened by what we see that we miss our chance to slay the giant. Instead, we find his foot on our neck.

Christian attempts to live victoriously in Christ when in a hostile environment could become frightening if we did not believe that God provides for us in every trial. The sovereign God of eternity knew every kind of attack the enemy would use before time began. And He has provided His spiritual armor—His Word, prayer and the Holy Spirit—so that we might be victorious when these attacks come against us. God has equipped you as a servant of Jesus Christ with these spiritual weapons, the resources you need to defeat the enemy and gain great victories for His kingdom.

Paul instructed Christian converts to put on the impenetrable armor of God—coverings God provides—so that we can stand victorious in every situation we face as we move forward confidently in the work God has called us to do. He also understood it to be a protective covering for the mind and spirit, ensuring that injuries to the body will not embitter or destroy the soul.

RESPONSE: Today I will take advantage of all the spiritual armor God provides for me to stand strong.

PRAYER: Help me Lord to not try and fight spiritual battles in my own strength but with the resources You freely provide.
