Warning! Digging up people’s past and sharing that is siding with Satan! Unless we now think we are equal to Jesus, The Heavenly Father or the Holy Spirit (that would be pride); we best not get into other people’s past!
If someone brings up my past forgiven sins, shares them and then holds me accountable; they will be heading to the Lake of Fire if they themselves don’t repent! It matters not how great or small the sins are; there is no sin acceptable and if we have been washed clean, it’s never wise for anyone to keep bringing those up! By the judgements we spew out of our mouths, we ourselves will be judged by!
Remember that Gossipers and Slanderers will NOT enter the kingdom unless they repent. Yes, gossip can be revealing the truth of someone’s past; it’s a very dangerous thing to be involved in gossip and speaking of someone’s past forgiven sin!
I already know others are holding me accountable for my past forgiven sins, Lord have mercy on any of them who refuse to repent!
I hate and despise gossip. I don’t care for any of it and it matters not if it’s shared in person, on blogs, phone calls, text, email or anywhere else! I don’t tolerate it well and sometimes reach a point where I must part ways with people who continue to share their gossip with me!
What would Jesus do with this information you have a need to share? Are you asking for prayers or do you enjoy exposing the past of others? Have you arrived and are no longer a sinner? Are you perfect?
Matthew 7:1-5 (HCSB)
“Do not judge, so that you won’t be judged. For with the judgment you use, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye but don’t notice the log in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ and look, there’s a log in your eye? Hypocrite! First take the log out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.
Proverbs 11:13 (HCSB) A gossip goes around revealing a secret, but a trustworthy person keeps a confidence.
Proverbs 20:19 (HCSB) The one who reveals secrets is a constant gossip; avoid someone with a big mouth.
Romans 1:28-32 (HCSB)
And because they did not think it worthwhile to acknowledge God, God delivered them over to a worthless mind to do what is morally wrong. They are filled with all unrighteousness, evil, greed, and wickedness. They are full of envy, murder, quarrels, deceit, and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, arrogant, proud, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, and unmerciful. Although they know full well God’s just sentence—that those who practice such things deserve to die—they not only do them, but even applaud others who practice them.
1 Timothy 5:13 (HCSB)
At the same time, they also learn to be idle, going from house to house; they are not only idle, but are also gossips and busybodies, saying things they shouldn’t say.
