Scripture That People Pretend Is Not There

The purpose of the post is to show scriptural reference to things people ignore.  The Bible is not like a buffet, where you can just pick out the things you like and ignore the rest!  This post is to bring truth.  Let us not be like the Pharisees, but let us not ignore what is written in the Word Of God.

I already know this post won’t be received well.

No interpretation given on scripture here.   I’ve only supplied definitions, names and sub-titles.  It’s a good thing we aren’t under the Old Testament Laws (relative to being physically killed or offerings made at a temple), as it would not bode well for many (see Leviticus 20);  Instead we have a new Covenant with Christ Jesus as our Lord and Savior.  What was sin in the Old Testament is still Sin now; the difference is that we can go to Jesus to repent instead of going to temple with burnt offerings.

Remember that ALL sin is forgiven except that of Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.  Once we repent, we are not to continue in Sin.  If we fall, we ask for forgiveness but do not continue in that Sin.

If you pretend you don’t know the truth, where do you expect to spend eternity?

Prophecy = the foretelling or prediction of what is to come. 2. something that is declared by a prophet, especially a divinely inspired prediction, instruction, or exhortation. … a divinely inspired utterance or revelation: oracular prophecies.

Prophetess Names In The Bible:

Exodus 15:20 Then Miriam the prophetess, Aaron’s sister, took a tambourine in her hand, and all the women followed her with their tambourines and danced.

Judges 4:4 Deborah, a woman who was a prophetess and the wife of Lappidoth, was judging Israel at that time.

2 Kings 22:14  So Hilkiah the priest, Ahikam, Achbor, Shaphan, and Asaiah went to the prophetess Huldah, wife of Shallum son of Tikvah, son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe. She lived in Jerusalem in the Second District. They spoke with her.

2 Chronicles 34:22  So Hilkiah and those the king had designated went to the prophetess Huldah, the wife of Shallum son of Tokhath, son of Hasrah, keeper of the wardrobe. She lived in Jerusalem in the Second District. They spoke with her about this.

Nehemiah 6:14 My God, remember Tobiah and Sanballat for what they have done, and also Noadiah the prophetess and the other prophets who wanted to intimidate me.

Luke 2:36  There was also a prophetess, Anna, a daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was well along in years, having lived with her husband seven years after her marriage,

1 Timothy 2:8-15 “Instruction For Men and Women

In_Jesus_Name_Prayer

8 Therefore, I want the men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or argument. 9 Also, the women are to dress themselves in modest clothing, with decency and good sense, not with elaborate hairstyles, gold, pearls, or expensive apparel, 10 but with good works, as is proper for women who affirm that they worship God. 11 A woman should learn in silence with full submission. 12 I do not allow a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; instead, she is to be silent. 13 For Adam was created first, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and transgressed. 15 But she will be saved through childbearing, if she continues in faith, love, and holiness, with good judgment.

1 Corinthians 14:33-36

33 since God is not a God of disorder but of peace. As in all the churches of the saints, 34 the women should be silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak, but should be submissive, as the law also says. 35 And if they want to learn something, they should ask their own husbands at home, for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church meeting. 36 Did the word of God originate from you, or did it come to you only?

Acts 2:17

Acts2_17

17 And it will be in the last days, says God,
that I will pour out My Spirit on all humanity;
then your sons and your daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
and your old men will dream dreams.

Divorce

Divorce

Matthew 19:9

9 And I tell you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery.”

Matthew 5:31-32

31 “It was also said, Whoever divorces his wife must give her a written notice of divorce. 32 But I tell you, everyone who divorces his wife, except in a case of sexual immorality, causes her to commit adultery. And whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

Mark 10:11-12

11 And He said to them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her.

12 Also, if she divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery.”

Luke 16:18

18 “Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery, and everyone who marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery.

1 Corinthians 7:10-16

10 I command the married—not I, but the Lord—a wife is not to leave her husband. 11 But if she does leave, she must remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband—and a husband is not to leave his wife.

12 But I (not the Lord) say to the rest: If any brother has an unbelieving wife and she is willing to live with him, he must not leave her.

13 Also, if any woman has an unbelieving husband and he is willing to live with her, she must not leave her husband.

14 For the unbelieving husband is set apart for God by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is set apart for God by the husband. Otherwise your children would be corrupt, but now they are set apart for God.

15 But if the unbeliever leaves, let him leave. A brother or a sister is not bound in such cases. God has called you to live in peace. 16 For you, wife, how do you know whether you will save your husband? Or you, husband, how do you know whether you will save your wife?

Homosexuality, Adultery, Deviant Sexual Practices

can_you_hear_me_now

Galatians 5:19-21

19 Now the works of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, moral impurity, promiscuity, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambitions, dissensions, factions, 21 envy, drunkenness, carousing, and anything similar. I tell you about these things in advance—as I told you before—that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Romans 1:26-27

26 This is why God delivered them over to degrading passions. For even their females exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 The males in the same way also left natural relations with females and were inflamed in their lust for one another. Males committed shameless acts with males and received in their own persons the appropriate penalty of their error.

Leviticus 20

Stoning_In_The_Bible

10 If a man commits adultery with a married woman—if he commits adultery with his neighbor’s wife—both the adulterer and the adulteress must be put to death.

11 If a man sleeps with his father’s wife, he has shamed his father. Both of them must be put to death; their blood is on their own hands.

12 If a man sleeps with his daughter-in-law, both of them must be put to death. They have acted perversely; their blood is on their own hands.

13 If a man sleeps with a man as with a woman, they have both committed a detestable thing. They must be put to death; their blood is on their own hands.

14 If a man marries a woman and her mother, it is depraved. Both he and they must be burned with fire, so that there will be no depravity among you.

15 If a man has sexual intercourse with an animal, he must be put to death; you are also to kill the animal.

16 If a woman comes near any animal and mates with it, you are to kill the woman and the animal. They must be put to death; their own blood is on them.

17 If a man marries his sister, whether his father’s daughter or his mother’s daughter, and they have sexual relations, it is a disgrace. They must be cut off publicly from their people. He has had sexual intercourse with his sister; he will bear his punishment.

18 If a man sleeps with a menstruating woman and has sexual intercourse with her, he has exposed the source of her flow, and she has uncovered the source of her blood. Both of them must be cut off from their people.

19 You must not have sexual intercourse with your mother’s sister or your father’s sister, for it is exposing one’s own blood relative; both people will bear their punishment.

20 If a man sleeps with his aunt, he has shamed his uncle; they will bear their guilt and die childless.

21 If a man marries his brother’s wife, it is impurity. He has shamed his brother; they will be childless.

  1. Ask the Lord to reveal the truth in all things thru the Holy Spirit.

One item that each should ask for clarification — Are all foods now clean? I asked this in prayer and felt I heard, “Yes, I have made all foods clean”. If the Holy Spirit prompts you not to eat something, then do that in obedience. I don’t have all the answers — Take it to the Lord for clarification in truth.

    Mark 7:17-23

17 When He went into the house away from the crowd, the disciples asked Him about the parable.

18 And He said to them, “Are you also as lacking in understanding? Don’t you realize that nothing going into a man from the outside can defile him?
19 For it doesn’t go into his heart but into the stomach and is eliminated.”

20 Then He said, “What comes out of a person—that defiles him. 21 For from within, out of people’s hearts, come evil thoughts, sexual immoralities, thefts, murders, 22 adulteries, greed, evil actions, deceit, promiscuity, stinginess, blasphemy, pride, and foolishness. 23 All these evil things come from within and defile a person.”

  2. Hard passages you brought JC but true to a letter. I know we cannot fulfill them but we can ask for forgiveness. And your eating question i think is answered in the book of acts where the heavenly vision of the blanket with animals where Peter i think IT was got the express command. Kill and eat and what the Lord has proclaimed clean dont you make unclean.

So we live under strict laws but the Holy Spirit gives liberty from desires that otherwise would consume us. And IF we fail we can ask for forgiveness which i routinely do before sleep for me and My family. In jewish tradition i learned from Sonshine the father is responsible for his childrens sin until 12 years of age.

    1. Stig, this post took a long time to write up. I received excellent advise on clarification from someone. I agree that we can ask for forgiveness of All sins .. All is forgiven except that of Blasphemy Against The Holy Spirit.

We also need to show Love to everyone, no matter what Sin they continue to live in. The Lord waited 30+ years for me — he forgave all my sins, blotted each one out and placed my name in the Book of Life. If he can forgive all of my sins, he can forgive anybody’s. 🙂

I also agree about continued repentance. We can sin in just thought. We also have authority over all forms of evil and that includes rebuking demonic thoughts that try to enter our minds. If we let those sinful thoughts take hold and don’t repent from them, we are living under a demonic influence of the “Once Saved Always Saved” doctrine.

I must share all scripture, even the ones the make us uncomfortable. One thing for sure — we don’t have to prove the truth in scripture. We must never come across as “haters”, but instead show love to everyone.

  3. Good post as always James! And, Stig, I don’t believe you learned that from me yet it certainly bears witness!!!

Deuteronomy 22:5 says: “A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor shall a man put on a woman’s garment, for all who do so are an abomination to the Lord your God.”

This one really had me going for a time. I’ve grown up on a farm and lived on farms. I had a struggle of 2 hours trying to get dressed for church after feeding the horses and so on. I went back to staying in my boots and jeans. Here’s what a finally came to understand:
You are to dress modestly. In other words if your jeans are snug, wear a long sweater or tunic over them. Same with low cut blouses etc. Best not to wear them at all. We are not to cause someone to have impure thoughts. Don’t put on jewelry hanging all over and try to outdress every other woman there. We go to worship, not to put on a performance.

The Lord is looking at our hearts not our dress if it’s appropriate. I am quite sure He doesn’t see fashion shows and vanity as a good thing.

Even working outside (garden etc) I cannot bring myself to wear shorts. My hubby, mom, and others think I’m odd but it’s just the way I am. It is God we are to answer to and He is looking, again at our hearts and motives.

As for the short hair……..well, the Lord is my covering and this is too deep to cover here in a short time.

This one below (if I worded it correctly) is part of what a prayer friend gave me in a word about going forth. Praying for confirmation over this and 100% Holy Spirits leading, instructions etc. It may be a short time or a lengthy time before I have His complete instructions. Please feel free to comment!:
A woman may follow the call of God on her life IF all things are done in His peace. Even if this means being away from home for a time. Scripture alludes to, we may divorce but not remarry 1 Cor 7:10 seems to me, this is not adultery as long as the person leaving doesn’t do so out of adultery, out of wrong motives etc. Still, divorcing is a serious matter before the Lord. Going forth with the Lord may not include an unbelieving spouse as we are in last days. (I will pour out My Spirit on all etc)

  4. Actually a man or woman can remarry but it requires that the other spouse has changed realm of existence.

When a man and woman get married, God unites them as one flesh (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:5-6). The only thing that can break the marriage bond, in God’s eyes, is death. If a person’s spouse dies, the widow / widower is absolutely free to remarry. The Apostle Paul allowed widows to remarry in 1 Corinthians 7:8-9 and encouraged younger widows to remarry in 1 Timothy 5:14. Remarriage after the death of a spouse is absolutely allowed by God.

You remind me of my wife sonshine 😎she was raised under the strict tutelage of an catholic elder woman who held strict discipline and even today the results can be seen how committed she is to duty.

    1. Oh Stig, I’ve been remarried. I followed church teachings that if there is abuse the wife may leave etc. It grieves me in the sense of if I had more faith etc. But this too is covered by the Blood, forgiven and in the past. It is hard for a person to think straight and get very clear instructions from the Lord when chaos is in the home………I suppose if you put adultery in the context of addictions, abuse etc which is also one thing I was taught during the times of off the wall emotional stress, then yes, it was ok to leave. Hindsight is always so humbling and convicting as we grow……

  5. Im not one to judge anyone. This life can throw you so many ways one does not know when or where. All have fallen short of the goal says the bible so that includes me too.

  6. I think when praying consistently for Holy Spirit to point out things that grieve Him and cleanse us………..it keeps any pride at bay. The falling short to me goes with praying to be counted worthy. When I think of all the Lord has taken me through, forgiven me for……I am astounded! Just when one area is dealt with in daily struggles of the heart, He points out another one and seems the surgery of the heart never ends…….one way or another the walls in the heart keep coming down. I wonder if Father ever laughs at how long it takes me to “get” something and then the “aha” light goes off.

  7. Just some quick thought for discussion before we head out to go camping for a few days.

When Paul says women shouldn’t ask questions at corporate worship, how do we interpret that? We know we are no longer under the law of Moses. Is Paul giving us a new law? Yet Paul also says if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law. Or is Paul applying a some biblical principles, such as men are supposed to be leaders in the home and church, and corporate worship is supposed to be orderly because God is a God of order. Elsewhere I think Paul says speaking in tongues is only allowed in corporate worship when it’s done one at a time and there is an interpreter so everyone can benefit from the message. Otherwise it’s a raucous free-for-all.

    Just thinking out loud…

    Blessings to all,

    Mike

  9. Prayers needed for all those that are soliciting immoral acts via emails and messages. I do not look at any type of pornography. I’ve been getting contacted by tons of “virtual prostitutes”. May the Lord have mercy on them and may they repent for their sin. I believe the enemy is trying to attack all true believers from every direction.

    1. I’ve been shocked how the ads are intentional on Christian sites and other forums. They are very inappropriate and yes, attack on believers!

    2. Well it dont need much for that kind of ads to appear because all websites are linked by cookies and adware programs.

They ruthlessly send ads anywhere an opportunity presents itself.

  10. I found this excellent post about “The Spirit Of Offense”. I’m sure all of us have been offended at some point in time, but we must forgive the offender and never hold it against them.

Sometimes when we are lead by the Holy Spirit to speak the truth, people will be offended. They don’t want to know the truth, just the truth that makes them comfortable.

I’m sure others have shared something with people in direct conversation, blogs, phone calls, texts or emails…. We shared the truth without knowing what a persons past was….. We then find that what we shared “hit a nerve” and that person gets offended and stops talking to us. Sounds very childish, but this will be the demise of many. No unforgiveness can enter the Kingdom of Heaven. We must forgive the person who got offended and keep them in our prayers. The person who was offended, needs to repent and take everything to the Lord in Prayer.

    Matthew 6:15
But if you don’t forgive people, your Father will not forgive your wrongdoing.

      1. I just watched part of a live telecast last night from people that have sent out excellent warnings before (name being withheld). Their guest speaker on was talking about Trump and then they turned the subject to “Millennials”(people born between 1982 and 2004). They were applogizing for “Baby Boomers” (people born between 1946 and 1964) — which I fall in this category :-). They refer to Boomers that send out warnings as near-death “Gloom and Doomers”!
        *********************************************************************

This tells me that even those who are “Watchman” are now caving into what society wants and not listening to what the Lord is telling everyone. More evidence of “Surgary” messages!

        2 Timothy 4:3
For the time will come when they will not tolerate sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, will multiply teachers for themselves because they have an itch to hear something new.

  11. Busy here too Stig, so I’m saying hello to all as well.

God is good! I’m getting so many praise reports from believers who have had little to no income, advances in jobs or jobs that pay well but what is so awesome is all of these have major health issues and the Lord is carrying them/us through it all. I just want to give Jesus, Father and Holy Spirit all the glory!

There are so many prayer requests and yet in the midst of it all He is answering them! Prayers for all the requests on here.

  12. I truly was not offended by the label of “Gloom and Doomer” — Just saddened that a once well respected source of Prophetic Warnings has gone by the wayside by catering to people wanting to now hear sugary messages.

It would have been funny if they had been playing this old “non-Christian” humorous Song “Don’t Worry Be Happy”, when they were broadcasting last night 🙂

Liberty is anathema to the people in power. They are slaves to the enslavement of temporal power. You people should read Platos republic and compare what his societal ideas was in comparison to what is happening.

  14. From Bette Stevens — 6/27/17

Use discernment, don’t always go along with what everyone else is saying or doing……We must know God and the Holy Spirit for ourselves……What is HE telling you to do or say or needs to be done…….
It is easier to go along with the crowd, than it is to stand separate……God is calling us out of the world,to be salt and light to a world that heading into turbulent times …..
God is not raising up a standard,He HAS already raised up a standard and the guidelines are in the Holy Written Word……
Not everyone who says” Lord”,”Lord” will enter the Kingdom…..We are set “part”
Armour up…Give your all to God….You either will stand for something or fall for anything and everything, but you can’t have it both ways….
Choose, the path is very narrow and many will not find it because the flesh is calling and resisting, the cost to follow Jesus is high, but worth the price He paid for our sins…
Don’t you know that hell is real and many will find it….
We die once, and then the judgement……
The door for safety is going to soon, what type of virgin are you?????Wise or Unwise???????
I am sending out God’s invitation again ,and what is that:??????
That none may perish and it won’t be ,because you didn’t know.
Call on the name of the Lord, wherever you are,and accept His full price that He paid for you…… tell someone today, let others be a witness for what the Lord has done in your life……
You will never regret this decision.
For those who have slipped away from the Lord, there is yet some time ,come back to Him now and receive forgiveness and don’t wait….Time is slipping away and we need to know everyday and not take for granted our salvation……
This is a serious time, and God is calling right now, wherever you are, whatever has happened in your life,God is calling
God is calling…….Won’t you answer His invitation…..It is open to all!!!!!!!!!!!
Extend this invitation to everyone…..Time is running out..
