Scripture That People Pretend Is Not There

The purpose of the post is to show scriptural reference to things people ignore.  The Bible is not like a buffet, where you can just pick out the things you like and ignore the rest!  This post is to bring truth.  Let us not be like the Pharisees, but let us not ignore what is written in the Word Of God.

I already know this post won’t be received well.

No interpretation given on scripture here.   I’ve only supplied definitions, names and sub-titles.  It’s a good thing we aren’t under the Old Testament Laws (relative to being physically killed or offerings made at a temple), as it would not bode well for many (see Leviticus 20);  Instead we have a new Covenant with Christ Jesus as our Lord and Savior.  What was sin in the Old Testament is still Sin now; the difference is that we can go to Jesus to repent instead of going to temple with burnt offerings.

Remember that ALL sin is forgiven except that of Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.  Once we repent, we are not to continue in Sin.  If we fall, we ask for forgiveness but do not continue in that Sin.

If you pretend you don’t know the truth, where do you expect to spend eternity?

Exodus 15:20 Then Miriam the prophetess, Aaron’s sister, took a tambourine in her hand, and all the women followed her with their tambourines and danced.

Judges 4:4 Deborah, a woman who was a prophetess and the wife of Lappidoth, was judging Israel at that time.

2 Kings 22:14  So Hilkiah the priest, Ahikam, Achbor, Shaphan, and Asaiah went to the prophetess Huldah, wife of Shallum son of Tikvah, son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe. She lived in Jerusalem in the Second District. They spoke with her.

1 Timothy 2:8-15 “Instruction For Men and Women“

Divorce

Matthew 19:9

9 And I tell you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery.” 

Matthew 5:31-32

31 “It was also said, Whoever divorces his wife must give her a written notice of divorce. 32 But I tell you, everyone who divorces his wife, except in a case of sexual immorality, causes her to commit adultery. And whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

Mark 10:11-12

11 And He said to them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her.

12 Also, if she divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery.”

Luke 16:18

18 “Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery, and everyone who marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery.

1 Corinthians 7:10-16

10 I command the married—not I, but the Lord—a wife is not to leave her husband. 11 But if she does leave, she must remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband—and a husband is not to leave his wife.

12 But I (not the Lord) say to the rest: If any brother has an unbelieving wife and she is willing to live with him, he must not leave her.

13 Also, if any woman has an unbelieving husband and he is willing to live with her, she must not leave her husband.

14 For the unbelieving husband is set apart for God by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is set apart for God by the husband. Otherwise your children would be corrupt, but now they are set apart for God.

15 But if the unbeliever leaves, let him leave. A brother or a sister is not bound in such cases. God has called you to live in peace. 16 For you, wife, how do you know whether you will save your husband? Or you, husband, how do you know whether you will save your wife?

Homosexuality, Adultery, Deviant Sexual Practices

Galatians 5:19-21

19 Now the works of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, moral impurity, promiscuity, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambitions, dissensions, factions, 21 envy, drunkenness, carousing, and anything similar. I tell you about these things in advance—as I told you before—that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Romans 1:26-27

26 This is why God delivered them over to degrading passions. For even their females exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 The males in the same way also left natural relations with females and were inflamed in their lust for one another. Males committed shameless acts with males and received in their own persons the appropriate penalty of their error.

 

Leviticus 20

 

10 If a man commits adultery with a married woman—if he commits adultery with his neighbor’s wife—both the adulterer and the adulteress must be put to death.

11 If a man sleeps with his father’s wife, he has shamed his father. Both of them must be put to death; their blood is on their own hands.

12 If a man sleeps with his daughter-in-law, both of them must be put to death. They have acted perversely; their blood is on their own hands.

13 If a man sleeps with a man as with a woman, they have both committed a detestable thing. They must be put to death; their blood is on their own hands.

14 If a man marries a woman and her mother, it is depraved. Both he and they must be burned with fire, so that there will be no depravity among you.

15 If a man has sexual intercourse with an animal, he must be put to death; you are also to kill the animal.

16 If a woman comes near any animal and mates with it, you are to kill the woman and the animal. They must be put to death; their own blood is on them.

17 If a man marries his sister, whether his father’s daughter or his mother’s daughter, and they have sexual relations, it is a disgrace. They must be cut off publicly from their people. He has had sexual intercourse with his sister; he will bear his punishment.

18 If a man sleeps with a menstruating woman and has sexual intercourse with her, he has exposed the source of her flow, and she has uncovered the source of her blood. Both of them must be cut off from their people.

19 You must not have sexual intercourse with your mother’s sister or your father’s sister, for it is exposing one’s own blood relative; both people will bear their punishment.

20 If a man sleeps with his aunt, he has shamed his uncle; they will bear their guilt and die childless.

21 If a man marries his brother’s wife, it is impurity. He has shamed his brother; they will be childless.
