Who can separate us from the love of Christ?

The title of this post comes from a partial verse in Romans 8:35.   All of the sub-titles come directly from the Holman Christian Standard Bible.

Romans 8

The Life-Giving Spirit
Therefore, no condemnation now exists for those in Christ Jesus, because the Spirit’s law of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. What the law could not do since it was limited by the flesh, God did. He condemned sin in the flesh by sending His own Son in flesh like ours under sin’s domain, and as a sin offering,  in order that the law’s requirement would be accomplished in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.  For those who live according to the flesh think about the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, about the things of the Spirit.  For the mind-set of the flesh is death, but the mind-set of the Spirit is life and peace.  For the mind-set of the flesh is hostile to God because it does not submit itself to God’s law, for it is unable to do so.  Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.  You, however, are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, since the Spirit of God lives in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.

Now if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.  And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, then He who raised Christ from the dead will also bring your mortal bodies to life through His Spirit who lives in you.

The Holy Spirit’s Ministries
So then, brothers, we are not obligated to the flesh to live according to the flesh, for if you live according to the flesh, you are going to die. But if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.  All those led by God’s Spirit are God’s sons.  For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father!”  The Spirit Himself testifies together with our spirit that we are God’s children,  and if children, also heirs—heirs of God and coheirs with Christ—seeing that we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.

From Groans to Glory
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is going to be revealed to us.  For the creation eagerly waits with anticipation for God’s sons to be revealed.  For the creation was subjected to futility—not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it—in the hope that the creation itself will also be set free from the bondage of corruption into the glorious freedom of God’s children.  For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together with labor pains until now.  And not only that, but we ourselves who have the Spirit as the firstfruits—we also groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for adoption, the redemption of our bodies.  Now in this hope we were saved, yet hope that is seen is not hope, because who hopes for what he sees?  But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with patience.

In the same way the Spirit also joins to help in our weakness, because we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with unspoken groanings.  And He who searches the hearts knows the Spirit’s mind-set, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose.  For those He foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers.  And those He predestined, He also called; and those He called, He also justified; and those He justified, He also glorified.

The Believer’s Triumph
What then are we to say about these things?
If God is for us, who is against us?
He did not even spare His own Son
but offered Him up for us all;
how will He not also with Him grant us everything?
Who can bring an accusation against God’s elect?
God is the One who justifies.
Who is the one who condemns?
Christ Jesus is the One who died,

but even more, has been raised;

He also is at the right hand of God
and intercedes for us.
Who can separate us from the love of Christ?
Can affliction or anguish or persecution
or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?
As it is written:
Because of You
we are being put to death all day long;
we are counted as sheep to be slaughtered.
No, in all these things we are more than victorious
through Him who loved us.
For I am persuaded that not even death or life,
angels or rulers,
things present or things to come, hostile powers,
height or depth, or any other created thing
will have the power to separate us
from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord!

  1. Issue of Deliverance. I first heard the word “Deliverance” from Bette Stevens. This is something we can do ourselves by using the Power in The Blood of Jesus and this gift is given to all who have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

If we are truly saved, we can’t be possessed by demons; however, if we do not seek the Power of the Holy Spirit, those demons can hang around us and wreak havoc! Ask the Lord to reveal to you anything that you have not brought to him in repentance. Ask the Lord to reveal to you if there’s anything that you are currently doing that is unpleasing to him.

You could be hanging onto false teachings, religious rituals, unforgiveness, and much more. If we don’t “Check Ourselves”, we can fall right into the trap of deception including a demonic religious spirit.

Here’s a short post from Bette.

  2. Devotional — 5/9/17

Isaiah 30:18 ERV: So the LORD is waiting to show his mercy to you. He wants to rise and comfort you. The LORD is the God who does the right thing, so he will bless everyone who waits for his help.

We don’t usually think of God as being a God who waits. After all, He is the Sovereign Lord of the universe. He can do what He wants when He wants. He doesn’t have to wait for anything. All He has to do is speak and worlds come into being. He says: “My words make the things happen that I want to happen” (Isaiah 55:11). Nevertheless, our verse for today tells us that God is waiting for us. He is waiting for us to come to a certain point and then He will spring into action.

What God is waiting for is the opportunity to rise up from His waiting and comfort us, show us His mercy, and help us in our time of need. God is a God who wants to do the right thing by us. He wants to help us, but He wants something to happen before He rises up to show Himself strong on our behalf. If we will come to a certain point, if we will do the right thing, then God will do the right thing for us.

The point that God wants us to reach is the point where we stop trying to make it on our own apart from Him. God wants us to turn to Him and wait. One might say that God is waiting for us to wait. He could help us without any waiting on our part if He wanted to, but He wants us to wait for Him. He wants us to honor Him as God by waiting for Him to decide when to act. What He doesn’t want is for us to give up on waiting and try to go it alone. What He doesn’t want is for us to give up on Him as God.

God is God. He is the Sovereign Lord and King over all things. We are subjects in His Kingdom. It is only fitting and proper that we wait on Him to move on our behalf.

And we can count on Him, because the Lord is the God who does the right thing.

  3. Definitely something to pray over. When I first heard this it gave me pause. This is serious if it’s all true. On the other hand, everything’s serious in this hour

    1. Only seeing the title says yes they are diversions. Bible emphasizes middle east as the center of events. But the kings of the east will lead the final assault on Israel in the book of revelation.

    1. Stig, are you referring to Revelation 16:12-16 when you commented about “Kings of the East”? It is in reference to the Sixth Bowl Judgment and Armagedon.

There are those that claim “Armagedon” is referring to “Mount of Megiddo or Kibbutz Megiddo” is the middle east. Here’s some more information of that portion — “Kibbutz Megiddo is nearby, less than 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) to the south. Today, Megiddo Junction is on the main road connecting the center of Israel with lower Galilee and the north. It lies at the northern entrance to Wadi Ara, an important mountain pass connecting the Jezreel Valley with Israel’s coastal plain.”

      Revelation 16:12-16

12 The sixth poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the east. 13 Then I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming from the dragon’s mouth, from the beast’s mouth, and from the mouth of the false prophet. 14 For they are spirits of demons performing signs, who travel to the kings of the whole world to assemble them for the battle of the great day of God, the Almighty.

15 “Look, I am coming like a thief. The one who is alert and remains clothed[m] so that he may not go around naked and people see his shame is blessed.”
16 So they assembled them at the place called in Hebrew, Armagedon.

    2. Intriguing observation, Stig-Ove. It’s possible Trump is one of the three horns displaced by the AC. I do believe Trump will be removed at some point. Shannon Johnson (Boldsojah4Christ) recently shared a dream about Trump ordering an aggressive immigrant roundup which will provoke a race war in America:

I think will happen before he is removed.

  4. Stig, where is that reference? I’ve read and listened to Revelation several times and even did a study on it with missler. I know we will never be able to get all the Word in us this side of our new home but this I have not heard?

  5. Thank you Stig. It was good for me to search also. I did wonder about Daniel and came across some references. Wow, I really needed reminded of this. So simple yet so much. Nathan has a great new audio out:)

    1. This observation of the seeds dying is in my opinion a verification of David Bohms observation of the similitude between plasma and cells in the human body. This radiation is a foreign constantly emitting source that interrupts the normal connection between cells and neurons in the human body.

Very good pic Sonshine and Mike to Shannons dream a very real possibility! Ethnos vs Ethnos, need one say more?

  6. An interesting thought came to me playing this idea of kings being overthrown by the ac. Namely this, Jerusalem is being depicted as surrounded and burned to the ground in the end times and we all know the popes and others desire to reign and hold seat in Jerusalem. Now consider this passages from revelation…..
    Revelation 17King James Version (KJV)

17 And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:

2 With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.

3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.

4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:

5 And upon her forehead was a name written, Mystery, Babylon The Great, The Mother Of Harlots And Abominations Of The Earth.

6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.

7 And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.

8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.

10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.

11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.

12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.

13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.

14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

15 And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.

16 And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.

    Jesus said this of Jerusalem…

    Revelation 11:8King James Version (KJV)

8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

This talks about the two witnesses and equates Jerusalem in the endtimes with Sodom and Egypt. In Jeremiah the Lord said he would make any Israelite taking shelter in Egypt extinct and in Zechariah 2/3 of all Israel is slain until they repent and call upon Jesus Christ.

In Revelation was it 17 it implies most of those kings giving their power to the beast are removed until only he and the falseprophet rule as defacto tyrants.

The Pope has told of his dream of Rome being sacked by jihadis and him being slain. Might we see the lamb/dragon ie the false prophets birth there and his eventual coronation to head of false religion who takes seat in Jerusalem and that defiles the apple of Gods eyes.

Just my night thoughts here ☺

  7. I have just been seeing the pope and one other “person.” One false prophet and the AC. So the unholy trinity “IF” there be one would be the power given to all of other kings to worship the beast. The opposite of Holy Spirit giving power to those in Christ.
I’m gonna more time out and dig into this more. Good study and good for the memory! Just the way it is, reading through it, all is unfolding perfectly in line with what is happening now.
Seriously I still shake my head at how technology has taken over all areas. Years ago I thought it would happen so differently!

  8. The what you refer as opposite to the Holy Spirit could be labeled the iniquity force! Its a term as far as i know coined by Dr Michael Lake and its an interesting term IF you go study iniquity and lawlessness in the bible. That being a term being used mostly in the Kjv though.

Its also interesting in the scriptures IT says WHO has known the depth of satan, knot men at least! And its also equates with darkness so those WHO are lights on the hills shining for men ie christians are really the points of light for a world in darkness bringing order and light to those fumbling in the dark.
