For In My Inner Self I Joyfully Agree With God’s Law.

The title of this post comes from a verse in Romans 7:22.

Romans 7

Marriage_And_The_Law

An Illustration from Marriage
Since I am speaking to those who understand law, brothers, are you unaware that the law has authority over someone as long as he lives?  For example, a married woman is legally bound to her husband while he lives. But if her husband dies, she is released from the law regarding the husband.  So then, if she gives herself to another man while her husband is living, she will be called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law. Then, if she gives herself to another man, she is not an adulteress.

Die_To_Self

Therefore, my brothers, you also were put to death in relation to the law through the crucified body of the Messiah, so that you may belong to another—to Him who was raised from the dead—that we may bear fruit for God.  For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions operated through the law in every part of us and bore fruit for death.

Romans7_6

But now we have been released from the law, since we have died to what held us, so that we may serve in the new way of the Spirit and not in the old letter of the law.

Sin’s Use of the Law
What should we say then? Is the law sin? Absolutely not! On the contrary, I would not have known sin if it were not for the law. For example, I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, Do not covet.  And sin, seizing an opportunity through the commandment, produced in me coveting of every kind. For apart from the law sin is dead.  Once I was alive apart from the law, but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life and I died. The commandment that was meant for life resulted in death for me.  For sin, seizing an opportunity through the commandment, deceived me, and through it killed me.  So then, the law is holy, and the commandment is holy and just and good.

Romans7_War_Within

The Problem of Sin in Us
Therefore, did what is good cause my death? Absolutely not! On the contrary, sin, in order to be recognized as sin, was producing death in me through what is good, so that through the commandment, sin might become sinful beyond measure.  For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am made out of flesh, sold into sin’s power.  For I do not understand what I am doing, because I do not practice what I want to do, but I do what I hate.  And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree with the law that it is good.  So now I am no longer the one doing it, but it is sin living in me.  For I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my flesh. For the desire to do what is good is with me, but there is no ability to do it.  For I do not do the good that I want to do, but I practice the evil that I do not want to do.  Now if I do what I do not want, I am no longer the one doing it, but it is the sin that lives in me.  So I discover this principle: When I want to do what is good, evil is with me.

Romans7_22

For in my inner self I joyfully agree with God’s law.  But I see a different law in the parts of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and taking me prisoner to the law of sin in the parts of my body.

Romans7_24_25

What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this dying body?  I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with my mind I myself am a slave to the law of God, but with my flesh, to the law of sin.

  1. Yup and 80% of the population are in adultery now. they believe it pertains to the most recent ex but it is your first spouse And if they are alive then you are free to remarry but cannot remarry a man or woman who has been divorced themselves and must marry A single person.

http://www.cpr-ministries.com is an excellent site for this teaching. He has had 40 yrs or more in it and we cannot remarry because God just wants us happy. That is a deception that satan has used and it has worked very well and hell is going to be full of these people that believe god is fine with remarriage.

    Ugh ugh ugh

I had to get out of a remarriage myself to get right with God.

    1. We need to have guidance from the Lord in ALL that we do and say. It is important we all seek more clarity, discernment and wisdom. Ask the Lord to show us the truth in all things. Satan is the one who brings condemnation! The Holy Spirit brings conviction for the purpose of keeping us clean before the Lord and to let us know what sin is at an individual level.

    2. This is what Jesus himself said about divorce when questioned by Pharisees. He clearly stated that divorce is only permitted because of sexual immorality. We will assume that this means one spouse cheated on the other.

Remember we are under a new Covenant with Christ Jesus as our Lord and Savior; otherwise, none of us would make it into the Kingdom. Remember that Christ fulfilled the Law.

We also must remember that ALL sin is forgiven, except that of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.

      Matthew 19:4-9

4 “Haven’t you read,” He replied, “that He who created them in the beginning made them male and female,” 5 and He also said: “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife,
and the two will become one flesh? 6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, man must not separate.”
7 “Why then,” they asked Him, “did Moses command us to give divorce papers and to send her away?”
8 He told them, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because of the hardness of your hearts. But it was not like that from the beginning. 9 And I tell you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery.”

Matthew 5:17 [ Christ Fulfills the Law ] “Don’t assume that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.

      Matthew 12:31-32
Because of this, I tell you, people will be forgiven every sin and blasphemy, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him. But whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the one to come.

  2. At church today i used the metaphor of the kingdom of God is inside you and that by speaking to the rock as Moses did that is a symbol of Jesus. Living water would gush forth and remake a barren inside into a lush spiritual paradise! Of course Even paradise has its snake but you get the idea.

And Anna drop in more often you are a fountain of wisdom and obviously have a LOT of Life experience too.

    1. At this point if we get through the rest of April/May I’ll be amazed. I am NOT date setting. Just feels so very imminent. Listened to Henry Gruver and Steve Q the other day again.
I had heard this before but did not pick up on what I did this time. Russia has been in our airspace to gather info on the jetstreams over many years. They said April and May are the only months the jetstreams carry enough for a high kill rate via attacks/nuclear, etc.

News at every turn that shows how close we truly are. I remember the days there was a huge news event every few months………..now there’s so much info it is all day long for some new event………..

Hebrews 12:1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,

  4. Cutting edge ministries has taken the stance that prosperity and wealth in the Us will be maintained in most part of the world until the big fall will come. So i think also that the leaders will go to utmost to hold the failing system together until the signal comes for the out break of hostilities and emergence of the Ac!

The passage that they will give in marriage etc and all will be normal until the end is one passage that supports this view.

Yes, they are having revival which I believe is of God, there are souls being saved. There will be those saved who will have their eyes opened…….but end time revival, God healing our land………true revival, many times happens during times of great persecution…….Short lived and powerful. This is what I see for the US

    THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT
…and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Ephesians 6:17b

Scripture is God’s Word to us. Get to know it. It is the source of truth, assurance and comfort. Learn its lessons. Let God use it to speak to your heart. Look to it to cut through the enemy’s lies and spiritual deception, and to reveal the truth. Use it to persuade others about God’s love and forgiveness.

When God’s Spirit impresses us with a verse or a passage of Scripture to use in our battle against the enemy in a particular conflict, we are able to defeat our enemy. The Bible calls this taking the sword of the Spirit.

Jesus defeated Satan the three times he was tempted in the wilderness by using the sword of the Spirit. (see Matthew 4).

Ruth’s world changed when she chanced to find a Bible. She was fifteen when she was rummaging through her Muslim family’s library. She found it hidden behind the other books. She says, “I quickly read a few pages and the message immediately touched my heart, even though I understood practically nothing of it. Secretly I began to read the Bible regularly in my room. I knew that I had to do more with this. I wanted to get to know Jesus better.”

She adds, “I don’t remember how it happened, but my family realized that I was showing too much interest in Christianity. My whole family was against me, especially my mother.”

“You’re a Muslim,” she said. “Why are you throwing your life away? Why aren’t you like other girls? You’ll soon be going to university and then you’re going to marry a respected Muslim!”

Ruth’s voice falters and for a moment, she doesn’t say anything. “I suffered a lot,” she continues. “But still I kept reading the Bible in secret. The Lord Jesus keeps drawing me closer to Him.”

RESPONSE: Today I take the sword of the Spirit so I can expose the tempting words of Satan.

PRAYER: Lord may the two-edged sword of Your Word be ready in my hands today and in the hands of those reading it for the first time.

    1. That’s an urgent word. Not sure how to interpret it. I don’t hear the Spirit telling me to stay home today, but then again most of what I do is within 5 – 10 miles of home. I do feel motivated to pray for the unsaved.

      1. I don’t have confirmation on that word either Mike. I am at home most of the time and will seek confirmation before heading out anywhere. For me, this means postponing any possible plans for long travels unless directed by the Holy Spirit.

      2. Same here. The message certainly bears witness to the heaviness of the hour and all going on yet I’ll be seeking Holy Spirit on confirmation too.

I want to thank the Lord for some personal breakthroughs today too. With the breakthroughs also came one of the heaviest burdens to pray ever….

I pray Father God for peace in our Spirits, and Peace in our minds freeing us of any fear as we watch from a distance the world gone amuck. l pray for healing of our mind, body and souls and for protection over us and our loved ones. Thank You Father for loving us and for sending Your Son Jesus. We give You all the honor and praise…I pray this in Jesus Name who taught us to pray….

After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

    ALL KINDS OF PRAYER
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Ephesians 6:18

Prayer is mentioned in the context of the wardrobe of the Christian warrior but not as a specific weapon of war or a piece of armor. That’s because prayer is the key to consistent victory in our warfare. Therefore, prayer is one of the most important things we can do when fighting the enemy.

David’s battle with Goliath was not won when the stone flew from the sling. It was won in David’s close relationship with the Living God. Our battles are won or lost in the way we walk with God. Prayer is talking with God and letting Him talk with you. Prayer is taking a stand against the spiritual forces of darkness that influence events and circumstances in the world.

Prayer is asserting God’s victory before we walk into battle. But prayer is more than kneeling before God. Prayer is as much an attitude as it is an act. Prayer is keeping your heart open to His leadership. Prayer is the constant communion with God needed to face the challenge of completing Jesus’ mission.

A Bible courier recounts: “We walked up to the customs with our suitcases full of Bibles. We know that at that moment there are as many as a hundred people praying for us. And can you feel it! We felt peace and joy as we push our trolley of suitcases towards the customs desk. I am absolutely certain that we were surrounded by angels. It sounds strange, but I just know.

‘Excuse me, ladies, do you have anything to declare?’ says the custom agent. At that moment, a good friend rushes up to the officer. They greet each other profusely. The customs man no longer sees us. We walk on, and a moment later we are standing with all our suitcases, which have not been opened, waiting for a taxi.

“I feel small and think, ‘Who am I? I only walk past the customs with my suitcases and I don’t even have to answer any questions. That’s all that God asks of me. And it’s He who does the rest—incredibly!’”

RESPONSE: Today I commit myself to being a person of prayer as I put on the whole armor of God.

PRAYER: Pray today with all kinds of prayers for all of God’s people. A great challenge and a great opportunity!

  10. Good to hear about your breakthroughs Sonshine…Glory be to God, Amen and Amen

I believe breakthroughs will begin to come in abundance (breakthroughs we didn’t expect or know we needed). I feel in these last days they will come to those who seek the Lord in pure honesty that is, with a pure and humble heart wanting to sincerely honor the Lord our God and only for that reason. Only then will we see these breakthroughs (gifts) in us and among us. I believe these will be the breakthroughs we’ve been praying for that we thought would never happen, not because we don’t believe but because we think time is running out. I’m praying for more, more, more of these gifts as it grieves my heart how many more are needed. When we see them happen we see proof that one second in time can change our lives and/or those around us. That second could be the last one but it’s enough time to make the difference needed for eternity. And to God we will give all the glory, Amen

I pray for us to stay closely aligned with the Lord as it seems we can so easily become complacent and put aside our attention to worship while going about the business of living day to day. It happens so quickly and it causes unnecessary grief and pain. Stay close. I speak from experience…beware, the enemy hides, he lurks in crevices just waiting for us to move a millimeter in the wrong direction or for us to be distracted.

Let us pray for more breakthroughs in us and around us…they sure are pleasing to the Lord.

    Blessings,
    Vicki

My wife and kids are my gift from the Lord and i give my all to keep them going.

  13. I marvel at the love of Christ in His body and how He uses His love on social media. None of us have met, yet through His love and how Holy Spirit works, there’s such a love for all on here. He moves in His love for those we’ve never seen nor met, who are going through persecution, those who do the persecuting………what a mighty God we serve!!!

  14. Aww…So true Sonshine! I marvel also and rejoice in it. It’s a testament to God’s love and how we believe in Him without seeing. It’s the same thing and its perfect in that its the way it’s suppose to be…It’s what He wants from us. Some days as I read this blog I’m reduced to tears from the love and caring shown to one another here. You can feel it through the miles. God’s love Shining through.
Thank You Jesus for each and every one who comes to this place to share their life and love……….Amen

  15. Amen Vicki. I need that same love to remain in me for those who are doing some of these horrific things. I must confess it comes and goes. I love them more than not, but battle the “staying” in His love for them when some of these are just so awful. It takes a bit to process before His love breaks through. He is faithful to finish the work He began in us!

    1. This article below was posted on my FB this morning. It is excellent. I’ve seen many articles recently over people sending a child into pre-K or kindergarten in transgender apparel. The schools jump through hoops to meet the needs required by law. Some of my friends are now dealing with this in their grandchildren’s schools. One of the 4 year olds was sent home with a message that the child needed help with gender neutrality …………

Seriously, it is child abuse to the child being used to further an agenda……..yet they are blind to the effect of their actions (2 corinthians 4:4) I have a spiritual daughter my heart breaks for, who left the lesbian lifestyle, only to go back into it. I pray for her to come back to Jesus. The article is so encouraging and the response of the teacher is awesome! She walked in the love of Christ and that’s what this young man saw in her.

It’s easy to get caught up in the aggravation of all our laws, beliefs, and world changing so quickly. Especially when it effects children.

      1. Outright sickness to twist a childs developing mind in this way. At the core of this problem is a rotten inclusivness who we christians know as the broad way to hell or woe to them who call bad good and good bad.

Poor children i can only speculate how this twists their minds. I could even say this is a mild form of trauma based mind control on societal level!

      2. The article helped me see His love in all of this. The man even went on TV to spread the agenda, yet in all of it, God used a Christian teacher who walked in the love of God. It just melted my heart in an explosive time of chaos in our schools, surrounding our little ones. If God has His hand on our children, which He does, no tactic of the enemy will keep them from Him, including being in the state school systems…

Personally i can not identify with the greatness that person felt at his saving moment. To me everything has come into place 1 step at the time and still many pieces to go before im ready, with the most important piece coming to place once Christ returns or my earthly walk is finished.

But that was a nice pick for reading Sonshine.

    STANDING AGAINST THE DEVIL
Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. Ephesians 6:11

The Bible clearly says to use the full armor. We usually feel we are doing okay if we have most of the pieces of armor in place. Yet, if even one piece is missing, we have a weak spot where Satan can injure us, causing us to lose ground rather than standing firm. (1 Peter 5:8-9)

The New Living Translation in Ephesians 6:11 puts it this way: “Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies and tricks of the Devil.” It further says in verse 13, “Use every piece of God’s armor to resist the enemy in the time of evil, so that after the battle you will still be standing firm.”

RESPONSE: Today I will put on the full armor of God to stand strong against Satan’s darts of doubt, denial and deceit.

    PRAYER: “The Warrior’s Prayer”

Heavenly Father, Your warrior prepares for battle.

Today I claim victory over Satan by putting on the whole armor of God!

I put on the Belt of Truth.

May I stand firm in the truth of your Word so I will not be a victim of Satan’s lies.

I put on the Breastplate of Righteousness.

May it guard my heart from evil so I will remain pure and holy, protected under the blood of Jesus Christ.

I put on the Sandals of Peace.

May I go out and proclaim the good news of the Gospel so your peace will shine through me and be a light to all I encounter.

I take the Shield of Faith.

May I be ready to deflect Satan’s fiery darts of doubt, denial and deceit so I will not be vulnerable to spiritual defeat.

I put on the Helmet of Salvation.

May I keep my mind focused on you so Satan will not have a stronghold on my thoughts.

I take the Sword of the Spirit.

May the two-edged sword of your Word be ready in my hands so I can use it to take authority over the Enemy.

By faith, your warrior has put on the whole armor of God.

I am prepared to live this day in spiritual victory.

    Amen.[1]
