Proverbs 3:32
for the devious are detestable to the Lord, but He is a friend to the upright.
Proverbs 6:16-19
16 The Lord hates six things; in fact, seven are detestable to Him:
17 arrogant eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood,
18 a heart that plots wicked schemes, feet eager to run to evil,
19 a lying witness who gives false testimony,
and one who stirs up trouble among brothers.
Proverbs 8:6-8
6 Listen, for I speak of noble things,
and what my lips say is right.
7 For my mouth tells the truth,
and wickedness is detestable to my lips.
8 All the words of my mouth are righteous;
none of them are deceptive or perverse.
Proverbs 11:1 Dishonest scales are detestable to the Lord, but an accurate weight is His delight.
Proverbs 11:20 Those with twisted minds are detestable to the Lord, but those with blameless conduct are His delight.
Proverbs 12:22 Lying lips are detestable to the Lord, but faithful people are His delight.
Proverbs 15:8 The sacrifice of the wicked is detestable to the Lord, but the prayer of the upright is His delight.
Proverbs 16:5 Everyone with a proud heart is detestable to the Lord; be assured, he will not go unpunished.
Proverbs 17:15 Acquitting the guilty and condemning the just— both are detestable to the Lord.
Proverbs 28:9 Anyone who turns his ear away from hearing the law— even his prayer is detestable.
Titus 1:15-16
15 To the pure, everything is pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; in fact, both their mind and conscience are defiled. 16 They profess to know God, but they deny Him by their works. They are detestable, disobedient, and disqualified for any good work.

That proverbs 28:9 which says the one WHO dont want to hear the law is detestable to the Lord is interesting, and i have a little different take on that. Might require some work but the point is to show how the law and the Word reflecs on our reality.
1 Peter 3:7
7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
Proverbs 6:20
20My son, keep thy father’s commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother:
As children we dislike our parents commands and as adults our responsibilities to each other. As husbands we sometimes consider our wives to be nagging( and sometimes they do) 💐.
But upholding commitments and teaching them builds us and purifies us. Gives us selfdiscipline and spine and discernment. And being married now for soon 9 years i have bumped into some Very human problems myself.
But the key is in 1 Peter that you respect your wife so that your prayers might not be hindered. The christian church has been deemed male centered and out of touch with modern interpretations. I put out a competing statement that says that the traditional ways were always right and our modern ways of going where the getting is good impairs our ability to pray and be heard of the Lord!
Consider praying like a pipeline or cable to God, IF its clogged or some threads are cut by ourselves we hamper our own walk in a major way.
And our first way to walk is obedience to parents and later to our spouses. Of course this begins with an sincere turn to Jesus and saying please forgive me and straighten my way. After that our pipeline or cable will be open for connection to heaven itself!
That way we will be not detestable to the Lord although the world might consider us holier than them. Even then we as christians have the answer, we are only as Holy as we are because we said yes to the Lord and he makes us better. Not we ourselves by our deeds.
Maybe not such an unique view but one i have, Blessings to all WHO read 😇

Stig, good analogy about our Cable to the Lord and how we can have things interfere or “Clog” that pipeline to heaven.

Emphasis was on the law of thy mother. Seems women are a walkin talkin manifestation of the law in a way. Maybe the women of the world will guillotine me for this statement but forgive me💖

THREE FOLD PREPARATION
Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. Ephesians 6:11
In the 1980’s, an Open Doors co-worker visited Pastor Tu in Vietnam—leader of the fastest growing house church network at that time. It was reported to the pastor by a member of his house church that the authorities were threatening to imprison him. Pastor Tu told our colleague, “I know it is coming. I have prepared my people for my imprisonment. I am ready for prison.”
Shortly after that, Pastor Tu did spend three years in prison. When he was released, he found his house church network had grown three hundred per cent in his absence.
I received a Christmas card from him the following year that read: “…God greatly gives our church 20,203 more new believers this year. Hallelujah!”
The pastor’s comment to our colleague reveals three areas of preparation for coming storms:
· Intellectually – “I know it is coming.”
· Practically – “I have prepared my people for my imprisonment.”
· Spiritually – “I am ready for prison.”
1. Preparation intellectually involves:
– understanding what the Bible teaches about persecution
– understanding what is God’s purpose in persecution
2. Preparation practically involves:
– practicing the do’s and dont’s so not to invite persecution unnecessarily
– knowing what programs and forms to undertake so the church can continue
to function under pressure and persecution
– knowing your rights as a citizen (Acts 22 & 25)
3. Preparation spiritually involves:
– engaging in activities that stress the importance of fighting the spiritual
battle
RESPONSE: Today I will prepare intellectually, practically and spiritually for any coming storms.
PRAYER: Pray that Christians in all restricted countries will understand these three aspects of the spiritual battle and preparation.

CAN YOU SLEEP WHILE THE WIND BLOWS?
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
During a recent hurricane storm, the following story circulated on the Internet:
A farmer on the Atlantic seacoast constantly advertised for hired hands. Most people were reluctant to work on farms along the Atlantic because of the awful storms that wreaked havoc on the buildings and crops. One applicant for the job was a short, thin man, well past middle age.
“Are you a good farm hand?” the farmer asked him. “Well, I can sleep when the wind blows,” answered the little man.
Although puzzled by this answer, the farmer, desperate for help, hired him. The little man worked well and kept busy from dawn to dusk. The farmer felt satisfied with the man’s work.
Then one night the wind howled loudly from offshore. Jumping out of bed, the farmer grabbed a lantern and rushed to the hired hand’s sleeping quarters. He shook the little man and yelled, “Get up! A storm is coming! Tie things down before they blow away!”
The little man rolled over in bed and said firmly, “No sir. I told you, I can sleep when the wind blows.”
Enraged by the response, the farmer was tempted to fire him on the spot. He hurried outside to prepare for the storm. To his amazement, he discovered that all of the haystacks had been covered with tarpaulins. The cows were in the barn, the chickens were in the coops, and the doors were barred. The shutters were tightly secured. Everything was tied down. Nothing could blow away. The farmer then understood what his hired hand meant, so he returned to his bed to also sleep while the wind blew.
When you’re prepared for storms, spiritually, mentally, and practically, you have nothing to fear. Can you sleep when the wind blows through your life? The hired hand in the story was able to sleep because he had secured the farm against the storm.
We secure ourselves against the storms of life by soaking ourselves with the Word of God, being obedient to it and then placing our faith and trust in God’s goodness. We don’t need to understand, we just need to hold His hand to have peace in the midst of our storms.
RESPONSE: Today I will prepare myself practically, mentally and spiritually so that I can sleep when the storms blow in my life.
PRAYER: Thank You, Lord, for the peace only You can give when the strong winds try and wreak havoc in my life and daily situations.

Looks like they are predicting Winter Storms for East Coast of U.S. Where I live (Southwest Missouri), we mostly received a light dusting of snow and very cold temps. It is currently +6(f) with a windchill of -1(f).

I saw that James. Our system headed your way and South. Prayers!!! Little things as in the farm hand who slept, cannot be overlooked. We are a balmy 10 this morning! We have pet doors for our dogs, the youngest one I have to watch closely due to something happening in her feet before we got her. She’ll lay down on the snow/ice if it’s too cold! This morning I let the critters out, she came in, I went to feed and noticed there was not the normal bouncing excitement. For an extra 2 minutes my other girl had been out in this and I had shut the main door! Poor girl:(
With these temps, the SSTS ones that stand out: God kept the lady warm, and being prepared to sleep well. Everyone and everything in it’s place and tended to.
PS The “they are here” that kept waking me up to pray, follows the date, from the beginning of the conspiring, thru Friday the 23rd, to the present (15th) when O did his backstabbing of Israel. Psa 83:2 For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.
Psa 83:3 They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.
Psa 83:4 They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.
Psa 83:5 For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:
