Occult Practices VS Prophetic Revelations

I’ve held this post in draft status for several months, waiting for the correct timing to release this.  I felt this morning, it was fine to go ahead.

Everyone, please remember to keep all those with the gift of prophecy in your prayers. We are to show the characteristics of Christ to all of God’s children.  Never ever turn against them in anger or judgment.  God knows their hearts and he is the only one that knows the truth.

We have been told many prophecies that never came true.  This does not mean that they were trying to deceive anyone.   Many truly love the Lord, but they did not have correct interpretation, timing or audience.

Please pray that all who sent out false prophecies repent.   The important thing to remember is that we need to be ready for eternity at all times.   In an instant, we will either be at peace or torment for ever and ever.

Some with the gift or prophecy will try to ‘back peddle’ or tell us that prayer changed the outcome.    Any prophecy that doesn’t happen, never came from the Lord.  This does not mean that the prophecy came from demons either! Sometimes emotions can get in the way of the truth.  God never changes, he is Holy and he never lies.  He also never tells someone to Sin for the purpose of accomplishing his work.

Deuteronomy 18:9-22

9 “When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not imitate the detestable customs of those nations.

10 No one among you is to make his son or daughter pass through the fire, practice divination, tell fortunes, interpret omens, practice sorcery,

11 cast spells, consult a medium or a familiar spirit, or inquire of the dead.

12 Everyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord, and the Lord your God is driving out the nations before you because of these detestable things.

13 You must be blameless before the Lord your God.

14 Though these nations you are about to drive out listen to fortune-tellers and diviners, the Lord your God has not permitted you to do this.

15 “The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own brothers. You must listen to him.

16 This is what you requested from the Lord your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly when you said, ‘Let us not continue to hear the voice of the Lord our God or see this great fire any longer, so that we will not die!’

17 Then the Lord said to me, ‘They have spoken well.

18 I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers. I will put My words in his mouth, and he will tell them everything I command him.

19 I will hold accountable whoever does not listen to My words that he speaks in My name.

20 But the prophet who dares to speak a message in My name that I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods—that prophet must die.’

21 You may say to yourself, ‘How can we recognize a message the Lord has not spoken?’

22 When a prophet speaks in the Lord’s name, and the message does not come true or is not fulfilled, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him.

1 John 4:1-6  The Spirit of Truth and the Spirit of Error

Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to determine if they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

2 This is how you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit who confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God.

3 But every spirit who does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist; you have heard that he is coming, and he is already in the world now.

4 You are from God, little children, and you have conquered them, because the One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

5 They are from the world. Therefore what they say is from the world, and the world listens to them.

6 We are from God. Anyone who knows God listens to us; anyone who is not from God does not listen to us. From this we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of deception.

1 Thessalonians 5:20-21

Don’t despise prophecies, 21 but test all things.  Hold on to what is good.

Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither… Psalm 1:1-3

    Concluding Thoughts:

    1. Ours is the Kingdom. No matter what setbacks we see or experience, in the end the Kingdom will revert to our Lord and we will reign with Him.

    2. Ours is the victory through dying and living again – victory through being able to drink the cup of evil and injustice poured out and not being consumed by it.

    3. Ours is the responsibility of caring for our suffering brethren, especially converts and those in countries more restrictive and repressive than ours.

    4. Ours is the responsibility of reaching those who still sit in darkness.

    5. Ours are the lives that should manifest purity and Christlikeness.

    6. Ours are the hearts that should be willing to pay the price to bring peace and understanding among men and between men and God. Hearts willing to be proactive. Hearts willing to stand at the end of the day and having done all; stand.

    7. Ours is the challenge to stand strong through all the storms we face and come through the fire refined and purified to walk the way of the cross before a dying world.

RESPONSE: Today I will accept the challenge to stand strong through all the storms I may face!

PRAYER: Pray for Christians living in severe persecution areas that refined and purified, they may experience all of the victory which is available through Christ.

  2. Prophets and prophesy, those who prophesy, are really getting hit. Also by some who do not understand things a Word of prophecy may mean something totally different than the natural mind thinks etc
One example is the Q and Pope said Christmas would not be normal (paraphrased) this year/2016. It wasn’t. O stabbed Israel in the back along with many more devious things over the holiday.
Praying and would like to ask for prayer here also. All is going well, thank you Jesus!
I need the words to put into correct format to explain some of the things the Lord has shown me, is showing. I have no issues with phone, person to person etc. Not sure if it’s the enemy or just lack of being able to put things together in sentences at times.

    1. I agree Sonshine. I think the problem is mostly interpretation of those with this gift. Some simply need to wait for confirmation, etc.

I agree with Stig too. The problem prophecies are those that gave dates, times, places, people. Persecution is going on now and has been for years in various countries. Again, probably an interpretation issue for those with the gift of prophecy.

  3. Id say myself that prophecies are not always global and people dismiss Even accurate ones IF IT does not concern them and their access to food and entertainment. I have more to say on this but a hungry boy awaitens.

    1. Stig, I truly think when all starts happening — it will be very horrific . It could all happen in huge waves and be unlike anything we all think. We already see how people react in natural disasters and shopping frenzies.

  4. I’m seeing people fall into error and deception all over the place, not only in the prophetic community, but among the awake remnant in general. My last couple of weeks have been full of trial and temptation and stumbling too. I think Satan & Co. are throwing everything they can at us. We’re also seeing the prophecy of Daniel 11:35 being fulfilled in real time:

“Even some of those with discernment will stumble, so that some of them will be refined, purified and cleansed for an end yet to come at the designated time.” – Daniel 11:35

I think I’m going to write a post about this. I’ll keep you post-ed.

    1. In the Kjv IT says more or less the same as Mike said. But IT ads about clothing made white which brings to mind the passage let us reason together says the Lord so that the bloodred clothes might be made spotless.

IT is so that we are tested on all sides atm, awaiting your blog Mike.

    2. Mike and all,
If you read through Revelation Chapter 3 on the Laodicean Church, you will see the need for REFINEMENT. Notice Jesus tells them to BUY certain things. That means there is a personal price/ cross involved.

Also, “Laodicea” means “the PEOPLE rule” (not the HOLY SPIRIT).
In many translations, this seventh letter is the ONLY one that reads
“OF THE LAODICEANS” instead of “of Laodicea, of Ephesus, of Smyrna, etc.” “OF THE LAODICEANS” is another emphasis of the point of the PEOPLE ruling rather than the Holy Spirit! It’s a sad state of affairs, but if we recognize it, perhaps even on an individual basis, we can be led by the Holy Spirit to rectify the situation (in however small a way) in our sphere of influence.
Revelation 3:14-22 (Jesus’ words IN RED to this FINAL church age that we are living in. Estimates are that this age began in about the year 1900.)

14“And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write,
‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God: 15“I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. 16So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. 17Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked— 18I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. 19As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. 20Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. 21To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.
22“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” ’ ”

  5. Mike, please feel free to share a link to your post. I’m sure many are interested in it.

I agree with you too Mike about the error and deception. So many are falling for the tricks of the enemy, as they head down the wide road leading to destruction. The enemy has a way of using our own “wants” into thinking they are being directed by the Lord — it gives justification for Sin.

All of us are prime targets, as the enemy knows he has a short time to accomplish his tasks. Repenting often is a must for all of us, as we can sin just in thought.

No matter what comes our way, we have hope in the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior. Some of us know what we must keep doing for the Kingdom, while others are still in waiting mode. We all should keep on praying, praise and worship. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide us while reading the Holy Bible.

    1. I’m interested too Mike. I didn’t realize you had one. 🙂

And yes, totally agree about the horrific. That one vision the young man (16) had, shook me up. It’s what I’ve seen and all I can say is Lord, give us all Your strength, Wisdom, Words, and use us to draw those to you who will be shaken to the core, traumatized and ………let us lead them to the Healer.

      1. Mike, thanks for sharing those excellent posts. They go very well with this one. I personally sense a strong delusion on many (not all) with the gift of prophecy. They need to repent for sending out false words and we need to treat them with Characteristics of Christ. Many who sent out False Prophecies will pretend they never did it or they will try and change those prophecies “back pedaling”. May we all stand in agreement for prayer about these things.

I know I am repeating myself, but I know that Satan and his minion are on overtime now. So many are in a state of delusion, that they think their plans are God’s, but in reality they have been setup by demons. When we open a door to Sin, the enemy is ready to setup camp. The enemy wants us to believe that Sin specified (clearly spelled out) in God’s word does not apply to us, since we have repented before. We are saved from Sin and not saved In Sin.

Clarity, Discernment and Wisdom needed in all areas.

      2. Hi James,

I hear you about delusion in the prophetic community. My gift is discernment and, in general, I don’t feel welcome on prophetic forums and blogs. It’s like they don’t want someone exercising reasonable criticism about their holy prophetic words. They want rah-rah, yes-man comments and not, heh, wait a minute here… But we’re supposed to operate as a body with different gifts complementing one another. If we don’t have that, things are going to get out of whack, and they are.

For instance, I rarely go to z3news anymore because it is cluttered with false prophecies and interpretations. In 2015 I left a comment questioning a particular “prophet” and word. James Bailey removed my comment within about 5 minutes and suggested I was sinning by doing that. From then on, all my comments had to approved by Bailey before posting, which discouraged me from commenting at all.

I have also noticed delusion seems to be contagious. People that seemed solid and discerning to me at first, after hanging out a while on these forums, start saying delusional things too.

I absolutely believe in prophetic gifts. There is a handful of prophetic voices I regularly listen to. The Lord shows me prophetic glimpses from time to time too. But we need discernment as well and can’t be afraid of criticism.

    1. I had seen this video by Kim Hilton, and LOVE the emphasis on the WORD of GOD. If people would just consistently READ/LISTEN/PONDER/ SPEAK it, every wrong could be made right.

The Bible is a Seed Catalog, full of SUPERNATURAL SEED that WILL take root and yield a HARVEST when read, thought, pondered, spoken.

When you have a NEED, plant the Bible SEED that addresses that need!

  6. Daily Devotional — 12/31/16

Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach. Deuteronomy 30:11

It is possible! The persecuted church by example prove to us that it is indeed possible to lose everything…to suffer everything…to endure everything…yet maintain a joyful spirit and heart of love for the Lord.

So often our major shortcoming is simply to doubt that we could go through those experiences and come out of them as refined and triumphant as we have witnessed others in these devotionals. Jesus never promised that our life would be easy—just fulfilling. He never promised that things would be fair—only that He would be just.

Though we might think that life is too hard for these brothers and sisters about whom we’ve been reading, we have been given perhaps an even tougher spiritual assignment. Yet the principles in dealing with it remain the same.

Ruth Graham shared a convicting story about a Christian who had just arrived in a free country from years of persecution. He was appalled at the seeming casual commitment to Jesus and materialistic contamination of these Christians. And he said so. Sometime later he returned to visit the friend to whom he had spoken so bluntly when he first arrived:

He asked if his friend remembered what he had said, the bitterness of his criticism. The friend remembered. The man stood silent for a few moments, reflecting. The friend tensed for a second attack.

“I have come to apologize both for what I said and the way in which I said it,” he said simply. “I was merely afraid. I did not know how dangerous freedom could be. It has been a year now. And I am worse than those I criticized.”

Then he added a significant statement: “It is more difficult to live the Christian life under freedom than under repression.”

Iranian Christian leader Luke Yagnazar lives in the United States. He concludes, “It is more difficult to be a Christian in the USA than in Iran. There you are either a Christian or not!”

Pastor Samuel Lamb in southern China says, “We have physical persecution but you have materialism. Your lot is harder because we know what we are spiritually fighting. Many times you don’t.”

Another Chinese church leader adds, “Once you are chasing after money there is no time and energy for church affairs…And the government knows that materialism will destroy the church faster than persecution can…I tell my co-workers in China that the biggest enemy we’re facing is no longer communism, it’s materialism.”

We must remember it’s a spiritual battle we fight in and we fight with spiritual weapons only.

RESPONSE: Today I resolve to begin the New Year ahead accepting the more difficult assignment and putting God and His kingdom ahead of all others and all else.

PRAYER: Lord, help me accept the more difficult assignment putting You and Your kingdom first.

  7. We recently had an old lady WHO practiced Reiki in our church and she made some of the ladies react negatively. But now after we took a stance as elders against it she refuses to return to our church meetings.

Reiki is a major deceiver in modern churches i think giving false healing and allowing false spirits to enter through back doors into the churches. Hopefully that lady will ask for Mercy from the Lord before its too late. She is 86 years old after all.

  8. Yes and yes to your comment above Mike, a person WHO gets a large enough following has a tendency to develop a sort of messianic complex smaller or greater. Free speech is accepting positive and negative without bias. JC has warned about similar issues earlier and i re member the passage Be still and know i am the Lord!

I prefer holding position until the Lord comes and give the message of hope to anyone wanting to listen! Thats the best position in My eyes.
