It’s important that we repent of all sin.  Ask the Lord to help reveal to you anything that you have not repented from.  There are people under the delusion that certain sin is fine, because of their close walk with the Lord.

wait_on_the_lord

I sometimes have to remain quiet when I listen to people claim that the following sin is fine in the eyes of God, but it makes me cringe!  I wait on the Lord’s perfect timing to guide my tongue for the reason of bringing out the truth.  We are never to Judge or condemn someone!  Sharing these examples is not meant to hurt anyone out there, I am just bringing out things that need attention with guidance from the Holy Spirit as people tell me things.

  • God told them to marry someone, when they have divorced somebody else for a reason other than sexual immorality!
  • God told them to divorce/separate from someone other that a reason of sexual immorality!
  • Homosexuality is fine, as long as you are a preacher, go to church, read the Bible or pray!
  • A man and woman living together “shacking up” is fine as long as they pray!
  • When I die and go to heaven, I am going to slap the person that did me wrong when I see them there!
  • I don’t Gossip, but did you hear what so and so did/said?

repent_turn_away_from_sin

The important thing to remember is that sin is sin and we need to repent from all of it! We are never to judge anyone else and always display the characteristics of Christ.   Let the Holy Spirit lead you in this area, as you may be confronted by someone that is struggling with these issues.  Let the Lord guide your tongue.  We are not to be like the pharisees.

Remember that we need to repent from sin often, whether it’s from thought or action. There’s no such thing as once saved always saved.  We must not consider ourselves “saved in sin” (continuing in sin and repenting), but aim for “Saved from Sin” (striving to never repeat the sin we have repented for).

Nobody can make it into the Kingdom of Heaven with unrepented sin, hate in their heart, or unforgiveness.  No matter what anyone has done to you, you must forgive them; this is not an option.

unforgiveable_sin

The only sin we are not forgiven from is Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.  I don’t claim to totally understand what that means, but for me some of that includes the following

  • Telling people that Satan did something that the Holy Spirit Did (giving credit to Satan for something that the Holy Spirit Did).  Telling people they are listening to demons, when in fact they are hearing directly from the Holy Spirit.
  • Blaming the Holy Spirit for something Satan did.  Some may blame the Holy Spirit for false signs and wonders.
  • Refusing to repent from sin before you die (after you have received conviction from the Holy Spirit) because you consider yourself the “God of your own life”.
  • Anyone going beyond what is written in the word.  We are not to add to or take away from the word.  God never changes.  What he told the prophets in the days of old, should not contradict what he is telling those in modern times.  Anything someone tells us as: (“A word from the Lord, The Holy Spirit Said, My Spirit Gave Me This Message, God said this, Jesus said this, etc.) — needs to be able to back up those claims with scripture.  If what they say contradicts the written word, you know then it is not from God!  This does not mean we are to attack those with the gift of prophecy, but pray that their messages are not released until they have confirmation, correct timing, correct audience and interpretation.  If prophecy does not come to pass, then it never came from the Lord.  This does not mean that they are “Sheep in Wolves Clothing” or “False Prophets” as those types are the ones with deception in their hearts.  Anyone giving false prophecy does need to repent.  Anyone passing out prophetic words for deceptive purposes or personal gain, may find that they are guilty of “Blasphemy Against The Holy Spirit”.

Consider a look at these articles:

Matthew 13:10-16

matthew13_11

Why Jesus Used Parables
10 Then the disciples came up and asked Him, “Why do You speak to them in parables?”

11 He answered them, “Because the secrets of the kingdom of heaven have been given for you to know, but it has not been given to them.

12 For whoever has, more will be given to him, and he will have more than enough. But whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.

13 For this reason I speak to them in parables, because looking they do not see, and hearing they do not listen or understand.

14 Isaiah’s prophecy is fulfilled in them, which says:  You will listen and listen,
yet never understand; and you will look and look, yet never perceive.

15 For this people’s heart has grown callous; their ears are hard of hearing,
and they have shut their eyes; otherwise they might see with their eyes
and hear with their ears, understand with their hearts
and turn back— and I would cure them.

ears_to_hear

16 “But your eyes are blessed because they do see, and your ears because they do hear!

17 For I assure you: Many prophets and righteous people longed to see the things you see yet didn’t see them; to hear the things you hear yet didn’t hear them.

john9_39

John 9:39-41

39 Jesus said, “I came into this world for judgment, in order that those who do not see will see and those who do see will become blind.”

40 Some of the Pharisees who were with Him heard these things and asked Him, “We aren’t blind too, are we?”

41 “If you were blind,” Jesus told them, “you wouldn’t have sin. But now that you say, ‘We see’—your sin remains

unpardonable_sin

Matthew 12:31-32

31 Because of this, I tell you, people will be forgiven every sin and blasphemy, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.

32 Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him. But whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the one to come.

1john5_4

1 John 5

Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Messiah has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father also loves the one born of Him.

2 This is how we know that we love God’s children when we love God and obey[a] His commands.

3 For this is what love for God is: to keep His commands. Now His commands are not a burden,

4 because whatever has been born of God conquers the world. This is the victory that has conquered the world: our faith.

5 And who is the one who conquers the world but the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

6 Jesus Christ—He is the One who came by water and blood, not by water only, but by water and by blood. And the Spirit is the One who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. 7 For there are three that testify:

8 the Spirit, the water, and the blood—and these three are in agreement.

9 If we accept the testimony of men, God’s testimony is greater, because it is God’s testimony that He has given about His Son.

10 (The one who believes in the Son of God has this testimony within him. The one who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony God has given about His Son.)

11 And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.

12 The one who has the Son has life. The one who doesn’t have the Son of God does not have life.

13 I have written these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.

14 Now this is the confidence we have before Him: Whenever we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.

15 And if we know that He hears whatever we ask, we know that we have what we have asked Him for.

16 If anyone sees his brother committing a sin that does not bring death, he should ask, and God will give life to him—to those who commit sin that doesn’t bring death. There is sin that brings death. I am not saying he should pray about that.

17 All unrighteousness is sin, and there is sin that does not bring death.

18 We know that everyone who has been born of God does not sin, but the One who is born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him.

19 We know that we are of God, and the whole world is under the sway of the evil one.

20 And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding so that we may know the true One. We are in the true One—that is, in His Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

21 Little children, guard yourselves from idols.

Do Not Judge
37 “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. RELEASE FROM CHAINS
Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose. Acts 16:26

African Muslim, El Gasim, saw the sign of the cross one day while praying the usual five times a day in the prison where he was incarcerated. He changed positions but the cross wouldn’t go away. This went on for seven days. He had no explanation for it, except that Christ was calling him to give his life to Him. A Christian pastor, also in prison explained that living for Christ would not be without suffering. They prayed together.

Other Muslim inmates saw El Gasim praying one day with another Christian prisoner and reported them to the authorities. When summoned to the superintendent’s office, they openly declared their faith in Christ and received twenty-five lashes each, administered by a Christian warder. The other prisoner denied his new faith but El Gasim confessed Christ and said he would face the consequence, no matter what. This enraged the authorities. He was beaten, shackled in chains weighing over fifty pounds and put on death row to be hanged.

The imprisoned pastor had great compassion for El Gasim, knowing that if God did not intervene, he was surely staring death in the eye. He told him Paul and Silas’ story, reminding him that he wasn’t the first to be beaten and chained for the sake of Christ. The important thing to remember was that Paul and Silas prayed and praised God, when their chains fell off and the prison doors opened. The pastor confirmed that it could still happen today, because the power that worked then, was still at work today. They prayed together, earnestly seeking God’s will.

The pastor retired to his room and continued praying. In the meantime, El Gasim, who then felt encouraged by the sharing, took the first step and to his surprise, the unexpected happened—the chain broke loose and fell from one of his legs. Bystanders, whose attention were drawn by the sound of the falling chain, watched in amazement as he took the second step—the same thing happened. A miracle had happened right before him and his other inmates. El Gasim went to the warder and told him, “Your chains are in the chapel, go and collect them.”

Trembling and confused the warder informed his superiors of this strange occurrence. An emergency meeting was convened. The incident could not be ignored or laughed off as nonsense. There were too many witnesses. They decided that it would be best to let El Gasim go free, because if he stayed he would certainly convert others to Christianity. Sending him to another prison wouldn’t help either, because even there they couldn’t stop Christ from doing miracles.

RESPONSE: Today I affirm my faith in a miracle working God who can release me from my chains.

PRAYER: Pray for persecuted Christian prisoners who need to be released from chains today.

  3. Post Notes**
The whole point of this post was to make sure we are clean in the eyes of the Lord, as we never know when we will step into eternity. We should never judge others and never proclaim that God told us to sin for justified reasons. God is Holy and he never changes. God never lies and whatever he proclaims to be done, will be done. We must forgive everyone, no matter what has been said or done. Forgiveness applies to our enemies as well.

  4. One of our smallest but greatest sower of discord is our limb known as the tongue! Every day one says something that one regrets! I Face IT daily especially at work and home too.

Id say IF Christ did not keep me in check probably somebody would beat me every day. I heard a story once of a big Very strong man WHO became a Christian quite late in life. Another from his home village always taunted and ridiculed him for that.

One day that man lost his nerves at the taunting and lifted up the other man clean off the ground and looked like he was about to beat him and said; Its your fortune that the beast has been tamed!

Thank Christ our beast has been tamed by Christ!

    1. Things like this, making it illegal to be homeless, making it illegal to feed the hungry……..what a thermometer of where we are. I saw an article of a 90+ year old man being arrested for feeding the homeless. He was all smiles. What a sweet man!!

  6. Awww…Thank you Stiggy, thank you all for your prayers!

It’s been a slow process healing. I ended up back in the hospital with complications and am just in the past few days beginning to feel better, like myself. One of the complications is inflammation around my heart…this will take some time to heal BUT… I’m thanking and praising the Lord for my life; for sustaining me until I made up my mind that I needed to go to the hospital. I was never alone, the Lord never left my side and He kept me from fear. He sent wonderful, amazing, gentle, caring people to take care of me. I felt Him near and I spoke of Him to others. Everyone who came near me to take care of me was like an angel, so kind and gentle. I’ve been to this hospital before, this was different, very different and I was acutely aware of the difference. Holy Spirit was everywhere I went in that hospital. I was there again this past Monday and again today for more testing and still I feel surrounded by His presence everywhere I go.

    Thank you…prayers have been answered.
    Peace and love,
    Vicki

    SOURCE OF PEACE
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27

Five Christian students were walking home from an Open Doors seminar in east Africa and passed a young Muslim man walking into the bush with a rope in his hand. He tied the rope around a tree. The students asked, “What are you doing?”

“I want to kill myself,” he replied. “Why?”

“I say my prayers five times a day and I read the Qur’an. I have money, a wife and children, but I have no peace. I want peace. That is my one big wish.”

The students applied what they have learned and witnessed to this man named Keder. They told him that the Qur’an teaches that Jesus is a prophet but He is also the Saviour of everyone who accepts Him as Lord. He is the Prince of Peace. Keder left the rope in the tree and decided to give this Saviour a try. The students took him to church and after prayer Keder said, “I’ve found the peace I was seeking.”

The following day Keder showed up at the seminar. A stranger wearing a Muslim hat scared the teacher at first but he continued. In the afternoon, Keder asked to give his testimony. “Until now, Islam was the only genuine religion for me because it was straightforward. I studied the Qur’an for five years and I did my rituals daily but none of that gave me peace. That is why I decided to kill myself. Then I met five of you Christians yesterday. I used to hate Christians, but when you witnessed and prayed for me, everything changed. Muslims are hurting without the knowledge of the Scriptures, therefore pray for them.” Keder is now secretly studying the Bible and attending church. He is the first Muslim in his area to accept Christ. His Bible study leader says that he attends regularly and arrives early to talk about Jesus before the Bible study starts. Jesus’ peace makes him unafraid and he wants to witness. He is even prepared to die for Jesus.

RESPONSE: Today I will rest in the promises of the Prince of Peace and not be fearful.

PRAYER: Pray for Muslims who are hurting from the lack of knowledge of the scriptures and the source of true peace.

  8. Psalm 41

1 Happy is one who cares for the poor; the Lord will save him in a day of adversity.
2 The Lord will keep him and preserve him; he will be blessed in the land.
You will not give him over to the desire of his enemies.
3 The Lord will sustain him on his sickbed; You will heal him on the bed where he lies.
4 I said, “Lord, be gracious to me; heal me, for I have sinned against You.”
5 My enemies speak maliciously about me: “When will he die and be forgotten?”
    6 When one of them comes to visit, he speaks deceitfully;
he stores up evil in his heart; he goes out and talks.
7 All who hate me whisper together about me; they plan to harm me.
8 “Lethal poison has been poured into him, and he won’t rise again from where he lies!”
9 Even my friend in whom I trusted, one who ate my bread,
has raised his heel against me.
10 But You, Lord, be gracious to me and raise me up; then I will repay them.
11 By this I know that You delight in me: my enemy does not shout in triumph over me.
12 You supported me because of my integrity and set me in Your presence forever.
13 May Yahweh, the God of Israel, be praised from everlasting to everlasting. Amen and amen.

  9. 2 Corinthians 2

1 In fact, I made up my mind about this: I would not come to you on another painful visit. 2 For if I cause you pain, then who will cheer me other than the one being hurt by me? 3 I wrote this very thing so that when I came I wouldn’t have pain from those who ought to give me joy, because I am confident about all of you that my joy will also be yours. 4 For I wrote to you with many tears out of an extremely troubled and anguished heart—not that you should be hurt, but that you should know the abundant love I have for you.

    A Sinner Forgiven
5 If anyone has caused pain, he has caused pain not so much to me but to some degree—not to exaggerate—to all of you. 6 The punishment inflicted by the majority is sufficient for that person. 7 As a result, you should instead forgive and comfort him. Otherwise, this one may be overwhelmed by excessive grief. 8 Therefore I urge you to reaffirm your love to him. 9 I wrote for this purpose: to test your character to see if you are obedient in everything. 10 If you forgive anyone, I do too. For what I have forgiven—if I have forgiven anything—it is for you in the presence of Christ. 11 I have done this so that we may not be taken advantage of by Satan. For we are not ignorant of his schemes.

    A Trip to Macedonia
12 When I came to Troas to preach the gospel of Christ, the Lord opened a door for me. 13 I had no rest in my spirit because I did not find my brother Titus, but I said good-bye to them and left for Macedonia.

A Ministry of Life or Death
14 But thanks be to God, who always puts us on display in Christ and through us spreads the aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place. 15 For to God we are the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. 16 To some we are an aroma of death leading to death, but to others, an aroma of life leading to life. And who is competent for this? 17 For we are not like the many who market God’s message for profit. On the contrary, we speak with sincerity in Christ, as from God and before God.

POURED OUT LIKE A DRINK OFFERING
For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near. 2 Timothy 4:6

On the last day of an Open Doors seminar in South Africa, students shared how they thought the church should prepare for persecution. One man shared his son’s story and its impact:

It was at the time when the pupils rioted, burning schools, churches, shopping centers, town councillors’ houses and mercilessly attacking anyone whom they regarded as a ‘sell-out.’

Each morning his sturdy, neatly dressed, thirteen-year-old Christian son wound his way through the mounds of rubble towards school, amidst the mocking of other youths wandering the smoke-filled streets. Later he would walk home, while the teachers, frightened by the threatening mobs, locked themselves in their homes.

One particular morning, after the family devotions, his parents watched as he walked off to school. At the school grounds, a mob blocked the gate. He walked undeterred through the gate and greeted them with a nod and a friendly smile.

He was in the center of the mob when they closed in around him blocking any further progress. One older gang leader, tall and powerfully built, grabbed the strap of his school bag and pulled him to a standstill. He glared at him and growled, “As a Christian you have always been on time for school, never late, never missing a day. You have always been praised by those ‘sell-out’ teachers for knowing and doing your school work in spite of our revolutionary slogan, ‘liberation now, education later.’ Today, you will have to decide for our revolution or else.”

“I have decided to have nothing to do with your revolution,” the boy replied unwaveringly. He remembered what his father taught on compromise in times of persecution.

With a curse the bully pushed him backwards into the mob. Blows rained on him and he tried in vain to ward it off, then a knife flashed in the sun, a second, and a third. Hours later, a policeman knocked on the door of his parent’s home.

The father still lives in that house and preaches the love of Christ to the same community. Peace has returned to the township, but hardly a day passes without a passer-by, or a message scribbled on the garden wall, reminding him of that day.

The father says, “I greet them and smile at them in the hope that the testimony of my life and my willingness to forgive will eventually carry the light of Christ into their hearts, replacing the spirit of bitterness darkening their lives. I know by going back there to train the church leaders I am at risk of my life being ‘poured out like a drink offering’ just like the apostle Paul.”

RESPONSE: Today I will not live in fear nor compromise my faith no matter what Satan throws at me.

PRAYER: Pray for courage for those whose lives today may be poured out like a drink offering.
