We all need to ask the Lord for clarity, discernment and wisdom. Anyone with an audience needs to be clear on what they share.
Those with the gift of Prophecy, need to make sure that what they are sharing has been confirmed. Sometimes people jump too quickly into sharing something from the Holy Spirit, that may yet to be clarified. The Prophecy being shared is never to contradict the word of God. Prophecy should never contradict itself; in other words it should never cancel out prophetic words that you shared previously.
Some words may be for that person only, a specific audience, a specific time to be released. When things are put out as something like “The Holy Spirit Told Me, The Lord Said, God Said, I had these words in my spirit, etc…” Take them to the Lord in prayer before sharing them with anyone. If we don’t do that, we can cause people to no longer believe in Prophecy for today. We can come across as “wishy washy” when we don’t wait on the Lord.
Prophecy is for today and very relevant for our time. What I state above is why we all need to ask for Clarity, Discernment and Wisdom.
1 Corinthians 14:33
for God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as it is in all churches of the saints.
Jeremiah 14:14 But the Lord said to me, “These prophets are prophesying a lie in My name. I did not send them, nor did I command them or speak to them. They are prophesying to you a false vision, worthless divination, the deceit of their own minds.
Jeremiah 27:15 ‘I have not sent them’—this is the Lord’s declaration—‘and they are prophesying falsely in My name; therefore, I will banish you, and you will perish—you and the prophets who are prophesying to you.’”
Matthew 7:15 “Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravaging wolves.
Mark 13:22 For false messiahs and false prophets will rise up and will perform signs and wonders to lead astray, if possible, the elect.
1 John 4:1 Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to determine if they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
Luke 21:15 for I will give you such words and a wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict.
Romans 11:33 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and the knowledge of God! How unsearchable His judgments and untraceable His ways!
6 However, we do speak a wisdom among the mature, but not a wisdom of this age, or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. 7 On the contrary, we speak God’s hidden wisdom in a mystery, a wisdom God predestined before the ages for our glory. 8 None of the rulers of this age knew this wisdom, for if they had known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 9 But as it is written: What eye did not see and ear did not hear, and what never entered the human mind—
God prepared this for those who love Him.
10 Now God has revealed these things to us by the Spirit, for the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. 11 For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man that is in him? In the same way, no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who comes from God, so that we may understand what has been freely given to us by God. 13 We also speak these things, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual things to spiritual people. 14 But the unbeliever does not welcome what comes from God’s Spirit, because it is foolishness to him; he is not able to understand it since it is evaluated spiritually. 15 The spiritual person, however, can evaluate everything, yet he himself cannot be evaluated by anyone. 16 For who has known the Lord’s mind, that he may instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ.
Ephesians 1:17 I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, would give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him.
Colossians 1:9 For this reason also, since the day we heard this, we haven’t stopped praying for you. We are asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding,
Colossians 3:16 Let the message about the Messiah dwell richly among you, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, and singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, with gratitude in your hearts to God.
James 1:5 Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to all generously and without criticizing, and it will be given to him.
13 Who is wise and has understanding among you? He should show his works by good conduct with wisdom’s gentleness. 14 But if you have bitter envy and selfish ambition in your heart, don’t brag and deny the truth. 15 Such wisdom does not come from above but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. 16 For where envy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every kind of evil. 17 But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peace-loving, gentle, compliant, full of mercy and good fruits, without favoritism and hypocrisy. 18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who cultivate peace.
