Disgusting False Doctrine

narrow_is_the_gate

The reason for this post is to voice my total disgust for all of the false doctrine being preached to the masses.  False doctrine has always made me feel sick and it irritates me more than those that are going around in public parading their sins.  We need wisdom and discernment in all areas.

always_savedbarf_bag

False doctrine is responsible for many people falling away from their faith, but many “Churchians” are so blinded to this, they can’t or won’t take any responsibility.

twist_not_Scripture1Satan_Fears_Our_Knowledge_Of_The_Word

Here’s a few examples of False Doctrine being spewed out of the mouths of Church leaders:

  • You must become a member of a Church and participate in a Sunday or Weekday Service! — That is a lie from the pit of hell.  We can have church anywhere and anytime, and it has nothing to do with the building.
  • Prosperity used as a way for preachers to claim tithing for their own personal gain! Many churches are focused on their church, their members, their stuff — but they miss the whole point!  What about spreading the word to those that are poor, homeless, in hospitals, etc?   Anyone that charges a fee for teaching/preaching the Gospel, needs to repent!   We should be led by the Holy Spirit in all things, and that includes giving of money, time or anything else the Holy Spirit directs us to do.  The Lord wants 100% of us, not 10%!!!!
  • Gossip is fine as long as we are not spreading lies! — WRONG!!! That too is a lie from the pit of hell.  We are never to Gossip!
  • Shun the sinner!  Wrong! — That is another lie from the pit of hell.  How can we reach people to share the truth, if we don’t include everyone?  We are not to accept sin, but we are not to put ourselves in a place of Pride!  Everyone deserves a chance at eternal life!  Jesus didn’t come here to hang out with pharisees!
  • Pre-Tribulation Rapture.   — WRONG!  That is not in the Bible and is a total fiction that man made up.  We must endure until the end.  There are people all over the world that have not been “poofed out”, and are currently enduring horrific torture, death and other disgusting things — all because they refuse to denounce their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Pray for people in Hell! — WRONG!  That too is a lie.  If we die without repentance, we will go to Hell and will not be prayed out of there!
  • We must speak in tongues as evidence of being filled with the Holy Spirit! — WRONG!  Speaking in tongues is a gift, but nowhere in the Bible does is say we have to speak in tongues to prove we have been filled with the Holy Spirit.  Many twist the day of Pentecost in Acts 2, and make speaking in tongues a “law” or “requirement”. Consider a review of the characteristics of Christ or “fruit of the Holy Spirit”.  Also consider a review of the gift of interpretation.  We should not be concentrating on tongues, but rather “Seek First The Kingdom Of God..”
  • Prophecy, Dreams, Visions and other gifts are not for today! — WRONG!  That is another lie from the pit of Hell.  Read your bible about what is expected in the last days — a good place to start is Acts 2.
  • Once Saved Always Saved! — WRONG!  This is another lie from the pit of hell.  We are not saved from future sin.  We must repent of all sin, even after we have been baptized by the Holy Spirit.  If you hold any unforgiveness in your heart, you will go to Hell!  You must forgive everyone, even those that have done horrible things to you!  You must forgive them, even if you can’t do this in person.  If you hold onto unforgiveness of any sort, you will indeed go to Hell!  That unforgiveness can be held onto someone that has already died. — It doesn’t matter, unforgiveness is unforgiveness!  There is no such thing as justified unforgiveness!

There are so many more examples.  Another thing that always makes me ill, is when someone says “Honor Your Father and Mother” — but they say this for the purpose of bringing guilt to a situation that they don’t understand.  Sometimes it is far better for us to remove ourselves from family members, when they have verbally denounced their faith and asked you to remain quiet about yours.   We can best honor/respect them by not getting into debate, not arguing with them, not yelling at them and not trying to force them into believing that they must repent and accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior.  We can honor them by still quietly loving them and praying for them.  Sometimes we must remain quiet, so the will of the Lord can happen.  Some people will twist this into thinking we are shunning someone!  That too is a lie from the pit of Hell!  When someone verbally denounces their faith to you, it may be time to walk away and let the will of the Lord be done.  The Lord may use another avenue to reach them, but we must not get in the way!  Follow the Holy Spirit for your situation.

Acts 2:1-4  “The Day Of Pentecost”

When the day of Pentecost had arrived, they were all together in one place. 2 Suddenly a sound like that of a violent rushing wind came from heaven, and it filled the whole house where they were staying. 3 And tongues, like flames of fire that were divided, appeared to them and rested on each one of them. 4 Then they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different languages, as the Spirit gave them ability for speech.

Acts 2:17 “Prophecy, Visions & Dreams in the Last Lays”

And it will be in the last days, says God, that I will pour out My Spirit on all humanity; then your sons and your daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams.

Galatians 5:22-26  “Fruit of the Spirit”

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, we must also follow the Spirit. 26 We must not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

1 Corinthians 12 “Spiritual Gifts”

12 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.
2 Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.
3 Therefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed, and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, except by the Holy Ghost.
4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.
6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God who worketh all in all.
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit thereby:
8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
9 to another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
10 to another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues.
11 But all of these that one and the selfsame Spirit worketh, apportioning to every man individually as He will.
12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ.
13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we are Jews or Gentiles, whether we are bond or free, and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
14 For the body is not one member, but many.
15 If the foot shall say, “Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body?
16 And if the ear shall say, “Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body?
17 If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling?
18 But now hath God set the members, every one of them, in the body as it hath pleased Him.
19 And if they were all one member, where would be the body?
20 But now there are many members, yet but one body.
21 And the eye cannot say unto the hand, “I have no need of thee”; nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.”
22 Nay, much more those members of the body which seem to be more feeble are necessary.
23 And those members of the body which we think to be less honorable, upon these we bestow more abundant honor; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.
24 For our comely parts have no need, but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honor to that part which lacked,
25 that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care one for another.
26 And whenever one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or when one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.
27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.
28 And God hath set some in the church: first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracle workers, then those with gifts of healing, helpers, administrators, and those with diversity of tongues.
29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles?
30 Have all the gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret?
31 But covet earnestly the best gifts, and yet show I unto you a more excellent way.

Matthew 5:17 “Jesus fulfills the law”

“Don’t assume that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.

Matthew 6:33  “Seek First the Kingdom Of God”

But seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.

Galatians 5:14 “How To Fulfill The Law”

For the entire law is fulfilled in one statement: Love your neighbor as yourself.

Galatians 6:2

Carry one another’s burdens; in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

Mark 3:29 “Unforgiven Sin”

But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin”—

Matthew 6:15 “We Must Forgive Everyone”

But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Romans 1 “Reprobate Mind” aka wicked/immoral

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind to do those things which are not fitting,
29 being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness, full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malignity. They are whisperers,
30 backbiters, haters of God, spiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31 without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affections, implacable, unmerciful.

Matthew 24:1-51 “End Of Age”

Destruction of the Temple Predicted
As Jesus left and was going out of the temple complex, His disciples came up and called His attention to the temple buildings. 2 Then He replied to them, “Don’t you see all these things? I assure you: Not one stone will be left here on another that will not be thrown down!”

Signs of the End of the Age
3 While He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached Him privately and said, “Tell us, when will these things happen? And what is the sign of Your coming and of the end of the age?”

4 Then Jesus replied to them: “Watch out that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and they will deceive many. 6 You are going to hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, because these things must take place, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these events are the beginning of birth pains.

Persecutions Predicted
9 “Then they will hand you over for persecution, and they will kill you. You will be hated by all nations because of My name. 10 Then many will take offense, betray one another and hate one another. 11 Many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 Because lawlessness will multiply, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But the one who endures to the end will be delivered. 14 This good news of the kingdom will be proclaimed in all the world as a testimony to all nations. And then the end will come.

The Great Tribulation
15 “So when you see the abomination that causes desolation, spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place” (let the reader understand), 16 “then those in Judea must flee to the mountains! 17 A man on the housetop must not come down to get things out of his house. 18 And a man in the field must not go back to get his clothes. 19 Woe to pregnant women and nursing mothers in those days! 20 Pray that your escape may not be in winter or on a Sabbath. 21 For at that time there will be great tribulation, the kind that hasn’t taken place from the beginning of the world until now and never will again! 22 Unless those days were limited, no one would survive. But those days will be limited because of the elect.

23 “If anyone tells you then, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘Over here!’ do not believe it! 24 False messiahs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. 25 Take note: I have told you in advance. 26 So if they tell you, ‘Look, He’s in the wilderness!’ don’t go out; ‘Look, He’s in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it. 27 For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 28 Wherever the carcass is, there the vultures will gather.

The Coming of the Son of Man
29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days:

The sun will be darkened, and the moon will not shed its light;
the stars will fall from the sky, and the celestial powers will be shaken.
30 “Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the peoples of the earth will mourn; and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 He will send out His angels with a loud trumpet, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.

The Parable of the Fig Tree
32 “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: As soon as its branch becomes tender and sprouts leaves, you know that summer is near. 33 In the same way, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near—at the door! 34 I assure you: This generation will certainly not pass away until all these things take place. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away.

No One Knows the Day or Hour
36 “Now concerning that day and hour no one knows—neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son —except the Father only. 37 As the days of Noah were, so the coming of the Son of Man will be. 38 For in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day Noah boarded the ark. 39 They didn’t know until the flood came and swept them all away. So this is the way the coming of the Son of Man will be: 40 Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and one left. 41 Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and one left. 42 Therefore be alert, since you don’t know what day your Lord is coming. 43 But know this: If the homeowner had known what time the thief was coming, he would have stayed alert and not let his house be broken into. 44 This is why you also must be ready, because the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

Faithful Service to the Messiah
45 “Who then is a faithful and sensible slave, whom his master has put in charge of his household, to give them food at the proper time? 46 That slave whose master finds him working when he comes will be rewarded. 47 I assure you: He will put him in charge of all his possessions. 48 But if that wicked slave says in his heart, ‘My master is delayed,’ 49 and starts to beat his fellow slaves, and eats and drinks with drunkards, 50 that slave’s master will come on a day he does not expect and at an hour he does not know. 51 He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

2 Timothy 2:15-26

15 Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman who needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
16 But shun profane and vain babblings, for they will increase unto more ungodliness,
17 and their word will eat as doth a canker — among whom are Hymenaeus and Philetus,
18 who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already, and overthrowing the faith of some.
19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal: “The Lord knoweth those who are His,” and, “Let every one who nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”
20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth, and some to honor and some to dishonor.
21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honor, sanctified and meet for the Master’s use, and prepared for every good work.
22 Flee also youthful lusts; but follow righteousness, faith, charity, and peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
23 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they engender strifes.
24 And the servant of the Lord must not engender strife, but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
25 in meekness instructing those in opposition. Perhaps God will give them repentance, that they may acknowledge the truth,
26 and that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

Matthew 23 “The Tithes Of Hypocrites”

23 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! You pay a tenth of mint, dill, and cumin, yet you have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy, and faith. These things should have been done without neglecting the others. 24 Blind guides! You strain out a gnat, yet gulp down a camel!

  2. Wow, great article! I was drawn to 1 Cor. and did a Strong’s search on it. What a humbling message there is just in those few verses!! The color won’t highlight here but a few of the words that stood out are put in caps.

22 But even more, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are necessary. 23 And those parts of the body that we think to be less honorable, we clothe these with greater honor, and our unpresentable parts have a better presentation. 24 But our presentable parts have no need of clothing. Instead, God has put the body together, giving greater honor to the less honorable, 25 so that there would be no division in the body, but that the members would have the same concern for each other.

    1. I really like it when people take time to study scripture. This here Sonshine is a good example how to do it!
Thats how i used to do it in times past before family life took over. Its good the Lords word says also in 2 Peter that the Holy Spirit opens up scripture for us also, otherwise i guess my thick head would be still stuck in the worlds mire.

Great work Jc and Sonshine, this is also as Jc said one of the places where you can put up a church. Right here at JC Southwest!

  3. This Day and Age — Jul 11, 2016 11:26 am | Glynda Linkous

My children, this day and age will be very trying for you. Those who hate will begin to turn their hatred towards you, because they hate My Glorious Name. They hate the righteousness you stand for, and want to kill you for it. Many think they do me service when they do, but the god they serve is not Me.

Keep yourself pure in these times, free from immorality, free from hatred, free from crime. Obey the laws of your land and honor Me in all you do. The time on earth is drawing to a close and what you see before you has been foretold of old.

Keep your eyes on Me, and I will keep you in perfect peace.

John 15:18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.

John 16:2 They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.

Matthew 24:42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

James 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

Isaiah 26:6 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

    1. We need Wisdom, Discernment and Clarity in all things. When you hear someone tell us “Obey The Law Of The Land” — take that to the Lord for confirmation. For Example: Wisdom dictates that we don’t obey the Law of the Land when they ask us to denounce our faith. We also don’t accept the “Mark of the Beast/Chip Implant” when it becomes Law!

      1. There has been some great articles about that concerning these clergy response teams and how to respond to them biblically. Chuck Baldwin my memory says was the pastors name who wrote one of those!

But the day will come and we will be at the mercy of the Lord like never before.

      2. Remember, Scripture can be quoted, but if it is quoted OUT OF CONTEXT and OUT OF LINE WITH THE FULL COUNSEL OF SCRIPTURE, it doesn’t make sense. This is why we have to be familiar with the whole Bible (including Rhema Word enlightening our individual understanding through the Holy Spirit) FOR OURSELVES.

Remember that the devil tried to tempt Jesus through QUOTING SCRIPTURE (part of Psalm 91) OUT OF CONTEXT. That is quite a warning that we need to be very discerning and also empowered by the Holy Spirit.

“A great fall is upon this nation. Rebellion, refusal to acknowledge your God will render this nation defenseless to attacks from the enemy. Your nation will soon feel My anger as I deal with their disobedience and rejection of the sacrifice of My Son. The prophets of old spoke of disobedient Israel, yet America takes no notice. Warnings go unheeded as she continues her downward spiral. I see no desire for holiness, no interest in repentance. I see only a willful disregard and disrespect for My Son and the gift He offers.

If you would repent, I would forgive, but hardness of heart has taken you far from Me. Begin to notice the shifting, do not continue to live in the poverty of unrighteousness. Rise higher, come closer, reach out, look up…

Persecution will come upon this land, little by little, bit by bit. There will be subtle attacks that will intensify as weeks and months progress. Shadows of a great nation will be all that remains. Forces of evil surround, guard your hearts and your minds, reject that which is evil, cling to that which is good. Recognize I AM LORD of all; mountain top or valley deep, I AM LORD of all.”

“For My hand made all these things, Thus all these things came into being,” declares the LORD “But to this one I will look, To him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word.” Isaiah 66:2
“Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord…” Acts 3:19

  5. Daily Devotional — 07/12/16:

    THE POOR IN SPIRIT
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:3

Acknowledging our poverty in spirit is humility. It occurs when a man or woman realizes his or her own utter lack of resources to meet life and finds his or her strength in God. Such an attitude leads one away from attachment to things to attachment to God and heaven. The word for poor here means absolute, abject poverty. We can thus paraphrase the first Beatitude this way:

Blessed are those who have realised their own utter helplessness and inadequacy and who have put their whole trust in God. Such a person will humbly accept the will of God and thus become a citizen of the kingdom.

Christians especially in countries like Pakistan find this a great comfort, for the majority of them are road sweepers and do menial jobs that others will not do. They are denied better jobs often because they are illiterate. Their children have no access to higher education and so the cycle of poverty continues with little hope of a break. Surely this message is also for them. As they put their complete trust and hope in the Lord, they are assured of a place in the Kingdom of God.

A Chinese Christian woman, a leader in her church, was arrested and put in prison. Led of the Lord, she volunteered to do hard labour, cleaning the filthy prison cells on her knees. This humble work gave her opportunity to sing and share Jesus with the prisoners in each cell. Through her words and actions many prisoners came to know the Lord in a personal relationship.

RESPONSE: Today I acknowledge my helplessness and inadequacy and place my complete trust in God.

PRAYER: Lord, help me express true humility in practical ways today and show that my trust is in You alone.

  6. Sadly, James. . . The “churchian” world has caused GREAT harm to those who are hurting and lost . . It’s the religious spirit flowing throughout the lukewarm church. The ONLY thing we can do is pray for those who are lost in the “churchian” world. Here is a warning dream I was given about the religious spirit, which helps spawn the false doctrines . . . Literally the “Doctrines of demons”:

  8. Moving
    Jul 12, 2016 12:15 pm | Glynda Linkous

Many of My children are being moved now for new assignments I have for them. These moves may come unexpectedly, but fear not, I have you safe in the palm of My Mighty Hand and you will not suffer loss if you obey all I say to do.

I shall speak to you in your spirits and lead you in the way you should go. If you obey Me, you will find I have provided all you need at your destination. If you delay to obey Me, it will not go well with you where you stay.

For some of you, there are relationships I desire you would loose from your lives where you are, and your move will assist you in this. Your enemy desires to snare you in wrong relationships that hinder the work of My Kingdom. I desire you would not allow him to do this.

Trust Me for all you need, do not lean to your own understanding in these matters, for you cannot see all there is to see, or all that is to come as I can. I love you, My children.

Genesis 12:1 Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:

1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

    Proverbs 3:5-7

5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.

It’s something that we’ve been warned about, but it needs to be reviewed again. Question to ask your preacher/minister/pastor — “Are You Part of the CRT?” — If they are, you may need to leave that church. Listen to what the Holy Spirit is telling you!
Is it o.k. for your Church leader to turn you in, so you can be placed in a Federal Extinction & Massacre Association concentration camp by the Department of Human Sacrifice?

    1. We must continue to honor and respect all men and women in Authority. We should pray for their protection, as many are out there risking their lives in order to save someone. Some of these include: Medical Staff, Firefighters, Police Officers, Emergency personal transport personnel such as helicopter pilots and ambulance, Sheriff personnel, and so much more.

Let us not twist the scripture in Romans 13. For me this says that we must not become barbarians like we see a lot on news media. We still obey the Laws of truth such as: No Stealing of anything, Pay Taxes That We Owe, etc. Be Lead By The Holy Spirit In This. Some of us may not be able to pay back past debt, but have done our part by trying to negotiate with our debtors. We are to display the Characteristics of Christ, even to those that are “debt collectors”.

      Romans 13

A Christian’s Duties to the State
13 Everyone must submit to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those that exist are instituted by God. 2 So then, the one who resists the authority is opposing God’s command, and those who oppose it will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have its approval. 4 For government is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, because it does not carry the sword for no reason. For government is God’s servant, an avenger that brings wrath on the one who does wrong. 5 Therefore, you must submit, not only because of wrath, but also because of your conscience. 6 And for this reason you pay taxes, since the authorities are God’s public servants, continually attending to these tasks. 7 Pay your obligations to everyone: taxes to those you owe taxes, tolls to those you owe tolls, respect to those you owe respect, and honor to those you owe honor.

      Love, Our Primary Duty
      8 Do not owe anyone anything, except to love one another, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. 9 The commandments: Do not commit adultery;
      do not murder; do not steal; do not covet;
and whatever other commandment—all are summed up by this: Love your neighbor as yourself.
10 Love does no wrong to a neighbor. Love, therefore, is the fulfillment of the law.

      Put On Christ
11 Besides this, knowing the time, it is already the hour for you to wake up from sleep, for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. 12 The night is nearly over, and the daylight is near, so let us discard the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. 13 Let us walk with decency, as in the daylight: not in carousing and drunkenness; not in sexual impurity and promiscuity; not in quarreling and jealousy. 14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no plans to satisfy the fleshly desires.

  10. Daily Devotional — 07/13/2016:

    MOURNING
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Matthew 5:4

Mourning is the kind of grief that cannot be hidden. It can be a deep sorrow for our own unworthiness that leads us to trust the Lord as our total Provider, seeking His presence and counsel (authority). Such action is rewarded by the Father’s gracious comfort.

It can also be for grief over the sorrow and suffering of this world. Blessed is the man who cares intensely for the sufferings, sorrows and needs of others. And so again we can paraphrase this Beatitude:

Blessed are those whose hearts are broken for the world’s suffering and are deeply sorry for their sin and unworthiness, for they will find the joy and comfort of God.

As we meditate on this, what comes to mind is the need to mourn for the state of the church and Christians generally. In many countries, churches are weak and nominal, or are split by internal conflicts. There is need to mourn. There is need to mourn also for believers who have quit the struggle and crossed to the other side.

Mourn for the poor quality of preaching, the lack of prayer and the deficiency of spiritual power. Mourn for those who come to the church only to find they are unwelcome. Mourn for Christians unwilling to introduce the light of Christ to them. Mourn for a church hiding its light, too scared to let it shine. Yes, there is much to mourn for. Yet, the promise is, if we mourn, comfort will come.

A self-sufficient Bible trainer from the West, spent time in China with young leaders needing biblical training. He felt inadequate at first but later wrote, “As I left them, I wept. I wept because I had to go back to a world where God was not taken half as seriously. I wept to return to a church where if I do not insert enough clever illustrations, eyes glaze over and no one listens to my talks. I wept to go back to a world of unread Bibles and dry eyes. I wept to return to a lifestyle that would regard me as mad if I kept trying to rise at 4.30 a.m. for prayer. I wept because I really wanted to stay with those fifty teachers and learn to love God as they did.”

RESPONSE: Today I will repent of my self-sufficiency.

PRAYER: Lord, I truly mourn over my own sin and unworthiness. And I mourn too for the deep and painful suffering that I see around our globe. May I receive Your joy and comfort.

  11. This truly puts religion in perspective too James. Those old messages of religion that you must always be shining with joy……..yes we have a deep abiding joy on the inside, knowing our Redeemer…but the grieving is heavy.

What’s the old saying……..”the religious shoot the wounded”…….brings to mind the Pharisees Jesus rebuked

  12. To Peggy

About scripture quoting out of context. When looking for verification in scripture as a rule i noticed there is usually 2-3 supporting verses to key doctrines in the bible. At least in the Kjv.

But its good to point such things out.

    1. Yes, Scripture should be its own commentary!! Seeking out the place of “first mention” is also helpful. (Genesis is FULL of “first mentions.”)

Also, about “obeying government authority,” I’m not sure if J.C. pointed this one out or not, but in America, our governing authorities are meant to be “The Constitution and the Bill of Rights.” If our government is not conforming to these, they are not operating in a Godly way. Also, if they are not operating according to the Word of God, they are not operating in a Godly way.

  13. Peggy, I totally agree with you. We don’t need to conform to un-Godly law. There has been much of that pushed through by Lizard-Lips/Obumbum/Lucifer Suit/Joker Tut lately! Again, Wisdom, Clarity and Discernment needed in all things. null
