Saved From Sin – Eternal Life

We need to be saved “From” sin and not saved “In” sin.  The difference is that when we are saved from sin, we begin to die to ourselves and let the Holy Spirit lead us.  Once we ask the Lord to forgive us of all our sins, it does not give us the freedom to keep on in our sins.  We must repent daily, because as long as we are in the flesh we are sinners.  There is no such thing as “once saved always saved”.  We will all stumble and fall, but we need to keep that “short list” with the Lord at all times.  Ask the Lord to help us daily, so we do not fall back into our normal sinful ways.

once_saved_always_saved

We can’t repent one day and then go out and do the same things again.  The Lord will still forgive us if we are truly sorry for what we did, but we need to stay strong and allow the Holy Spirit to move within us.  This can’t be done by ourselves, we need the Lord’s protection to help us remove temptation of any sins.

free_from_sinthose_in_hell

A good example of being saved “In” sin.   Let’s say you go to a true Holy Spirit church building and really let the Lord take control of you through the Holy Spirit.  This doesn’t have to happen in a building, as we can have “church” anywhere.  Then shortly afterwords, you decide to go hang out at a place such as:  Bar, Casino, etc…   You are still continuing in sin and not saved from it.

Ephesians 2:1-22

At one time you were like a dead person because of the things you did wrong and your offenses against God. 2 You used to live like people of this world. You followed the rule of a destructive spiritual power. This is the spirit of disobedience to God’s will that is now at work in persons whose lives are characterized by disobedience. 3 At one time you were like those persons. All of you used to do whatever felt good and whatever you thought you wanted so that you were children headed for punishment just like everyone else.

4-5 However, God is rich in mercy. He brought us to life with Christ while we were dead as a result of those things that we did wrong. He did this because of the great love that he has for us. You are saved by God’s grace! 6 And God raised us up and seated us in the heavens with Christ Jesus. 7 God did this to show future generations the greatness of his grace by the goodness that God has shown us in Christ Jesus.

8 You are saved by God’s grace because of your faith. This salvation is God’s gift. It’s not something you possessed. 9 It’s not something you did that you can be proud of. 10 Instead, we are God’s accomplishment, created in Christ Jesus to do good things. God planned for these good things to be the way that we live our lives.

11 So remember that once you were Gentiles by physical descent, who were called “uncircumcised” by Jews who are physically circumcised. 12 At that time you were without Christ. You were aliens rather than citizens of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of God’s promise. In this world you had no hope and no God. 13 But now, thanks to Christ Jesus, you who once were so far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

14 Christ is our peace. He made both Jews and Gentiles into one group. With his body, he broke down the barrier of hatred that divided us. 15 He canceled the detailed rules of the Law so that he could create one new person out of the two groups, making peace. 16 He reconciled them both as one body to God by the cross, which ended the hostility to God.

17 When he came, he announced the good news of peace to you who were far away from God and to those who were near. 18 We both have access to the Father through Christ by the one Spirit. 19 So now you are no longer strangers and aliens. Rather, you are fellow citizens with God’s people, and you belong to God’s household. 20 As God’s household, you are built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone. 21 The whole building is joined together in him, and it grows up into a temple that is dedicated to the Lord. 22 Christ is building you into a place where God lives through the Spirit.

John 3:16-18

16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
18 “He that believeth in Him is not condemned; but He that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

The wages that sin pays are death, but God’s gift is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

  1. That was an important definition difference you addressed Jc. Once saved always saved is the mantra of todays churchianity.

But to die to oneself as was already written in the OT to mortify ones flesh is still today our key struggle which will remain until the Lord comes or takes us home.

How blessed one can be to have found such a haven for the word in these troubled times.

Its good Jc that you focus on scripture, i still am something of a multidisciplinarian in what i read but i filter all i read through scripture as best as i can and the rest has to be filtered through the words of Jesus.

A good tree beareth good fruits and a bad tree bad fruits.

Simple as that grizzlie has spoken 🙂

      1. Excellent post, J.C.
One way to continue to die to selfie ( on-going personal NECESSARY sanctification) is to SPEND TIME IN THE WORD EVERY DAY. (needed daily bread for our spirit-man!!!)

THE WORD has the POWER to affect us supernaturally.
We can get RHEMA WORD for ourselves.
The BOOK is LIVING AND ACTIVE. ALLELUIA!

        Stig-ove,
That’s perfectly correct to filter all you read, see, and hear through the Bible/ WORDS of JESUS. It is wonderful that you choose to do that. Wouldn’t it be great if EVERYONE would?

The ultimate answer involves: “I’m not interested in your OPINION; Show me THE WORD on that!!”

      2. Yes, JC, we’re all learning all the time. We’re all STUDENTS of THE BIBLE! That learning will never end. The treasures in the Bible are unsearchable! It’s great to be fellow students together on this journey with hearts bound together by the Love of Jesus Christ, the Father, and the Precious Holy Spirit!

    1. Seriously stig? grizzlie? Where in the world do you come up with this stuff? lol

JC, thank you, thank you, thank you for this post and the Blood of Jesus covering it!!!!!

As the time gets shorter the deception gets thicker. Time to blow all that Sulphur stinking smoke back to the pit where it belongs. Devil isn’t getting any smoke screens here! Amen and hallelujah!

Stig-Ov, you are so right on. Saints we need to be devouring the scripture and let it permeate our every pore. See it, speak it, hear it, reach out and touch it, write it out, smell the sweet aroma of truth and righteousness, taste and see that the Lord is good.

      2. Acts 17: 11Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so. 12Therefore many of them believed, along with a number of prominent Greek women and men.…

I have some friends who literally have a pastor and his family move in with them. This is what they spend their time doing as a group with others not in church any longer, there with them.

I would love to find a group such as they have close to me! Virtual is great but face to face, iron sharpens iron and oh how I miss the days of tarrying, of being unable to move from the sweet presence of Holy Spirit……as a group.

Thank you for the post JC!

        1. I am in agreement with you. I’d love to have an in-person group for Bible-Study, Prayer, Fellowship. Who knows, maybe the Lord will send more my way 🙂 We get some amazing things from our “virtual family” here and I sure appreciate that as well.

  2. This is a link to Bette Stevens’ site.
Click on the past one called “REPENT before God’s Mighty Hand comes down- I have a Righteous Anger”

I listened to this last night. A big message in it was “HURRY, HURRY, NOW.”
Another message is to be “Saved RIGHT and not saved in your sin.”
Another message is that 90% of the churches will NOT make it into Heaven.
The heart of the church today is black.
If they are not operating in the original apostolic 5-fold ministry, their candle-sticks will be removed.
The church has compromised with witchcraft and homosexuality.
God is no longer winking at sin.

At any rate, I love to see someone (Bette in this case) preaching with righteous anger, not a standard “feel-good” message.

This is 40 minutes long and was released on 2/2/2016.

    1. Wonderful post JC! I questioned that doctrine, “once saved always saved” from the first time I heard it. But it does sound appealing to ‘churchians’. Thanks for the new vocabulary Stig-Ove! I referred to it as a ‘Christian culture’. I’m very grateful to be away from it. I pray daily for everyone to repent as I believe that the alternative is beyond imagination.
Peggy, I’m looking forward to listening to that link later this evening when I have time. Thank you!

  3. Here’s some more good preaching by Paul Washer.
He has for a long time been very concerned with the state of the church in
America and about the lie of “Once Saved Always Saved” (OSAS).

This is a short but powerful 3 minute clip……well worth watching…..

He speaks the full non-feel-good Gospel.
I believe that the clip above was taken from one of his sermons.
Most of the time, after he speaks, he is not invited back.
That shows that he is speaking TRUTH!

No kidding guys I was just talking about some of this with my Husband this morning. One of the last things I said was ,”EVERYTHING we need to live this life is in the Holy Bible…EVERYTHING”! There is no other book, no expert, that can teach us more than the Holy Bible.

I’ll be listening to more of this guy and sharing…thank you Peggy.

  4. Peggy what an awesome 3 min video – Imagine if every pulpit delivered that ? just like the video Stig-Ove posted on the other site with the “old days ” sermons – it was 1/2 hour but was excellent. Before all these technology distractions that were to give us “an easier better life” the less we had the better off we were – just in an old cabin lit by candlelight with a garden and His Holy Book.

  5. Recently I went around anointing my house with olive oil and the outside too, it just so happens that at the exact time my mom and sister came home. They both thought I was insane and “anointing” doesn’t do anything. Except I physically felt the cleansing and my house was blessed. They said I’m not a pastor and can’t do that.
I know I am getting more “radical” in their eyes, but I am just removing myself from this world and living in the Spirit!

    1. Thanks for sharing about anointing your house. I do that myself. I’m certain most people would think I’m a “few fries short of a happy meal” if they saw me doing this too. I have siblings and parents that would fall into the category of wanting to place me in a mental institute. 🙂

      1. Oh, wow, JC, that’s a shame about the last line.
It reminds me of a line in the Book of Acts where a ruler says to the Apostle Paul. “Paul, I perceive you have gone mad.” (Paraphrase).

    2. So true, little buddy, they do think we are crazy. Know what? I don’t care, I will even tell anyone that asks what I am doing that it represents the Blood of Jesus or the blood of the lamb in the Passover.

      Romans 1:16 NIV

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.

      Mark 8:38 NIV

If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his Father’s glory with the holy angels.

    3. LOL!! Too funny! I got caught also with a Swiffer duster in one hand dusting and a little bowl of oil in the other saying prayers. I wanted the door and window moldings nice and clean before anointing. My young adult son asked me if I’m all right. But, I’m not ashamed of the gospel and told him about it with eye rolls in response. I pray he understands and come to Jesus soon.

  8. Power video. Was posted on my FB earlier. Not looking forward to the coming month……just an overwhelming sadness at all our brethren are going through around the world………….the children and babies…………:(

This will soon be at our doorstep. I pray to be counted worthy………to look only to our Lord and Savior……..not any circumstances

Isaiah 50 in part of the scripture (set face like flint) was on my heart but the entire chapter speaks volumes

1 Thus saith the LORD, Where is the bill of your mother’s divorcement, whom I have put away? or which of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you? Behold, for your iniquities have ye sold yourselves, and for your transgressions is your mother put away.

2 Wherefore, when I came, was there no man? when I called, was there none to answer? Is my hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? or have I no power to deliver? behold, at my rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness: their fish stinketh, because there is no water, and dieth for thirst.

3 I clothe the heavens with blackness, and I make sackcloth their covering.

4 The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.

5 The Lord GOD hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back.

6 I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.

7 For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.

8 He is near that justifieth me; who will contend with me? let us stand together: who is mine adversary? let him come near to me.

9 Behold, the Lord GOD will help me; who is he that shall condemn me? lo, they all shall wax old as a garment; the moth shall eat them up.

10 Who is among you that feareth the LORD, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the LORD, and stay upon his God.

11 Behold, all ye that kindle a fire, that compass yourselves about with sparks: walk in the light of your fire, and in the sparks that ye have kindled. This shall ye have of mine hand; ye shall lie down in sorrow.

  9. I confronted the guys at work today about economic realities and the falling facades around us.
I told them about Norway closing the border to sweden europes economy hanging on a thread and generally that we have lived in an illusion of prosperity. They slammed the door in My Face and scorned me and i Said remember i told you that bad times are coming!

Jesus Said forgive your brother 77×7 and yet My prayer is once they see things unravel they will come running and the Lord Jesus will accept them Even IF we still live in this illusion of prosperity.

Our work is not in vain all our words will remain in peoples memory and they will come and ask Us how we knew and then the bible forth and tell EM people!

    1. Stig-Ove, I’m glad you were able to get those warnings out. Not surprised by the responses you got. Many people do this to our “virtual family” (myself included) when we try to warn our family, friends or anyone else. These types of responses have been seen on old blog postings and Facebook. Everyone prefers to keep burying their heads deeper into the sand — now the focus in the U.S. is the comical Presidential Race. Like Linda would say, “There will probably be many full diapers when people finally realize what has happened”. Too many people going about their normal lives and it doesn’t include Jesus. Wait until Lizard Lips declares Martial Law and then his true identity shows itself. Franky on his Golden Thrown in the Vatican is getting ready to take his place too.

    2. Agreed, Stig-ove. It’s good to give warnings as the Holy Spirit prompts you.
Then, perhaps people will have a frame of reference when things start unfolding. One thing for sure, SOMETHING will happen in this year, 2016, I believe. It won’t be too long that people will think we’re crazy. That all will soon end.

Stig-Ove – I passed on that last triple sunset pic you posted plus the article from the other day about the floods and effects of this event from that speaker that looked like he was from the movie men in black lol. But the people I passed this too have a daughter that lives in Florida – and we all heard the posting as to where the flooding occurs. They may be so frustrated and tired of hearing about all this but I just sent the e-mail and said “its time to pray – and annoint your home – I will help you if you want ”
Let Jesus take over – may they understand that this is not about destroying their life here – its time to think eternal – they go to my old church so I suspect they will want me to have a mental health checkup as well 🙂

“The trumpet will soon sound and My children will come home. You will be rewarded for faithfully following where I have led you. You have chosen the good and have brought honor and glory to My Name. But…. Before My final trump sounds, you will behold how the ungodly are judged.

Remain vigilant to do all you know to do. Do not refuse correction but accept it as an obedient child whose desire is to please and honor their Abba Father. Your God awaits the joyful praises of His people. He waits but none come. Through judgement My people will return to Me. Lucifer lies that I AM is not good. Lucifer, the father of lies, continues to steal, kill and destroy. Your God is long suffering, full of mercy, patient in love and forgiving yet millions see Me as a harsh taskmaster with too many restrictions – more of Lucifer’ lies. I want only the best for My people. My love will never end. Through every judgement I see the greater good.”

“I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. I AM the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.…”John 10:9-11

We understand that His commands are to help us and give us a hope and a future. The consequences of sin is accumulative. I’ve heard so much from family that are blinded by such lies.
