God Is Not Mocked!

I found an interesting warning message on Bible Gateway this morning, and it was labeled “God is not mocked”.   Many warning messages are going out across the globe and we that are awake, know time is running out.   Anyone that turns away from the Lord now, can expect the same from him when he returns.  

Galatians 6 

Make no mistake, God is not mocked. A person will harvest what they plant. Those who plant only for their own benefit will harvest devastation from their selfishness, but those who plant for the benefit of the Spirit will harvest eternal life from the Spirit.

We have choices to make, but only for a short time.  Very soon, it will be harvest time. Only those that have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their savior and truly repented from their sins, can expect protection and eternal life with him.

John 3

16 God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him won’t perish but will have eternal life. 17 God didn’t send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through him. 18 Whoever believes in him isn’t judged; whoever doesn’t believe in him is already judged, because they don’t believe in the name of God’s only Son.

Others are still going about their normal routines of selfishness.  Many are more concerned about their financial assets, where they live, what kind of vehicle they drive, how many college degrees they have accumulated, how many houses they own, how many boats they have in storage, and the list goes on.

Matthew 6:19-21

“Stop collecting treasures for your own benefit on earth, where moth and rust eat them and where thieves break in and steal them. Instead, collect treasures for yourselves in heaven, where moth and rust don’t eat them and where thieves don’t break in and steal them. Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

You can’t fill your lamps with oil by way of selfishness.  When was the last time you talked with the Lord?  Did you fit him into your busy schedule?   Do you prefer parties with the “in crowds” vs spending time sharing knowledge with God’s children?  Are you demanding attention by those you believe are beneath you in status?  When’s the last time you thanked someone that helped you?  When you go out in public do you draw attention to yourself by telling people things like:  who you know, what precious junk you have stored up?

Matthew 25 

Parable of the ten young bridesmaids (virgins)
25 “At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten young bridesmaids who took their lamps and went out to meet the groom. 2 Now five of them were wise, and the other five were foolish. 3 The foolish ones took their lamps but didn’t bring oil for them. 4 But the wise ones took their lamps and also brought containers of oil.

5 “When the groom was late in coming, they all became drowsy and went to sleep. 6 But at midnight there was a cry, ‘Look, the groom! Come out to meet him.’

7 “Then all those bridesmaids got up and prepared their lamps. 8 But the foolish bridesmaids said to the wise ones, ‘Give us some of your oil, because our lamps have gone out.’

9 “But the wise bridesmaids replied, ‘No, because if we share with you, there won’t be enough for our lamps and yours. We have a better idea. You go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’ 10 But while they were gone to buy oil, the groom came. Those who were ready went with him into the wedding. Then the door was shut.

11 “Later the other bridesmaids came and said, ‘Lord, lord, open the door for us.’

12 “But he replied, ‘I tell you the truth, I don’t know you.’

13 “Therefore, keep alert, because you don’t know the day or the hour.

We need to spend time with the Lord daily in prayer, reading the word, and obeying whatever tasks he has given us to do.  We must keep all unsaved people in constant prayer, along with our enemies and the “professing Christians”.  We also need to remember those that have wronged us in the past, by keeping them in prayer.

1 Peter 1:2

God the Father chose you because of what he knew beforehand. He chose you through the Holy Spirit’s work of making you holy and because of the faithful obedience and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. May God’s grace and peace be multiplied to you.

Much prayer is needed for those preaching prosperity and man’s doctrine.  Those preaching false gospel will be heading into the lake of fire, unless they repent.  Just because someone “commands” a large audience, doesn’t make them right in the eyes of the Lord.   We need to be cautious about the fake “healers” — those that put on a show of healing someone that never had a health problem to begin with.  Beware of those who twist the Gospel in order to keep the cash flowing in. Feel good messages won’t bring anyone to salvation.  It’s easy to recognize the “Gospel Twisters” look for the following:

• Is their church so large, it needs huge projection televisions so you can see their “fake” tears flowing on stage? 
• Do they wear expensive clothing, own several houses/mansions, have their own drivers and private jets, do you see armed security service people? 
• Do they have a slogan that doesn’t match scripture like “I want it, so I claim it?” 
• Do they have an ATM machine in the Lobby?   
• Do they spend a lot of time trying to convince their followers that wealth building is what the Lord wants for everyone?   
• Does the preacher spend a lot of time talking about “their church” and how they need to expand it’s precious beauty for the masses?  
• Does the church look more like a Hollywood movie set or concert hall?
