As the masses continue in their prideful ways and refuse to submit all to the Lord, let us take the time to thank the Lord each day for all he provides.  Isn’t it better to store up heavenly treasure than to place all of our attention on our earthly possessions?

We need to remove pride from our lives.  Do we really need to assign titles to ourselves, for the purpose of inflating ourselves above all others?  What is wrong with just having people call you by your first name?   Do we really want people to bow down to us?   Do we want to be looked at like the “Maharincess of Franistan” portrayed by Lucille Ball?  How about being viewed as a king like the one in “Farinelli and The King?”

When it is time to step into eternity, wouldn’t you rather have your lamps filled with oil?  Take in the word each day while being lead by the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 25:  Parable Of The 10 Virgins (Bridesmaids)

“At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten young bridesmaids who took their lamps and went out to meet the groom. Now five of them were wise, and the other five were foolish. The foolish ones took their lamps but didn’t bring oil for them. But the wise ones took their lamps and also brought containers of oil. “When the groom was late in coming, they all became drowsy and went to sleep. But at midnight there was a cry, ‘Look, the groom! Come out to meet him.’ “Then all those bridesmaids got up and prepared their lamps. But the foolish bridesmaids said to the wise ones, ‘Give us some of your oil, because our lamps have gone out.’ “But the wise bridesmaids replied, ‘No, because if we share with you, there won’t be enough for our lamps and yours. We have a better idea. You go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’ 10 But while they were gone to buy oil, the groom came. Those who were ready went with him into the wedding. Then the door was shut. 11 “Later the other bridesmaids came and said, ‘Lord, lord, open the door for us.’ 12 “But he replied, ‘I tell you the truth, I don’t know you.’ 13 “Therefore, keep alert, because you don’t know the day or the hour.

James 4:10

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

He mocks mockers, but he shows favor to the humble.

He humbled you by making you hungry and then feeding you the manna that neither you nor your ancestors had ever experienced, so he could teach you that people don’t live on bread alone. No, they live based on whatever the Lord says.

Better to be humble with the needy than to divide plunder with the proud.

Pride lays people low, but those of humble spirit gain honor.

“Happy are people who are humble, because they will inherit the earth.

Those who humble themselves like this little child will be the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

He will transform our humble bodies so that they are like his glorious body, by the power that also makes him able to subject all things to himself.

But he gives us more grace. This is why it says, God stands against the proud, but favors the humble.

  1. Better to be humble with the needy, than divide plunder with the wealthy?
I find opposing ideas interesting, but I’m with you all the way on this.
People who don’t have much are always in some way more fulfilled, personally I’m more fulfilled now I have much less than I used to.
I could give stat’s and figures suggesting this, but the less you pocess the more you pocess, equally.
You get one of something, then you want two, greed never ends, and with possessions comes pride, then lust even envy of those who have more, then slouth in obtaining more.
Your possessions own you, not you that owns them.

  2. Good post, James. I believe all of us have to guard against the “what about me” or the “pity party” . . . I know I have to do that sometimes and take that through captive and make it go POOF!!! Out the door!!!! Because if we allow ourselves to get into the “stinkin thinkin” zone, it will drag us down and also be an open door to demonic attacks.

PHEW, I’ll really be glad when all of this is over and it’s CELEBRATION time in the presence of the LORD Jesus.

    1. It will be an amazing time when we see the Lord. I thanked the Lord tonight for all he has done and am smiling when I think about the “banquet” being prepared. I never had this kind of relationship with the Lord in the past, and I sure know that I was never awake. I lived my life in the “all about me” mode for a long long time. I know now, but didn’t know back then, that the Lord was watching over me. There was a time back around 2009-2010 that I had contemplated suicide. I had lost all will to live and was physically looking like death was near.

It is truly amazing that he had his hand on me, even when I had reached the most horrific time in my life. There are many things I would love to erase from my memory, but I now see them as life lessons. I never knew before just how great the Lord’s Love, Protection, Patience and Guidance he really give’s all freely.

I also want to thank you too for not giving up on me Linda. I know you prayed for me often, and those prayers were answered. I’ve lost a lot of friends and family members, but have gained an awesome virtual family. I’ve forgiven everyone, as the Lord has forgiven me. We find it hard to forgive people when they say or do something that is a bit “special”, but it must be done.

      1. Awww, James . . . You’re my brother and I love you . . . I wouldn’t give up on you, no matter what ❤️

We do have an amazing virtual family, don’t we and someday, we’ll all be whooping and hollering with JOY in the presence of the LORD.

      2. Awesome share James! It was just this past Winter I told my mom I now see all the insane stuff that happened in my life, (whether by my own mess ups or others messing things up even the suicide attempts or other things done by someone else, too much to mention public) happened for a reason and are of value to help others now. Just when I think there’s an area healed, wow did He bring it up once and for all not long ago. His love and mercy are amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Much easier to forgive some from a distance and pray from a pure heart when not in our lives. In His grace I see the times I missed it and He did not give the Grace at the time to be around certain family.

  3. I agree JC.

Need to share: Father revealed some things last night I was completely unaware of. It was revealed as I initially listened to an mp3 download via a blog post I ran across on WP. I need to finish listening to it b4 I decide whether to repost it here. If this is God at work preparing me as a part of his Bride, then Praise his holy name!

On another (more somber) note, I implore all of you to walk with discernment, daily.

I walked into my local warehouse club this morning to pick up groceries. After I passed the front door, I walked past a man. I wasn’t trying to make eye contact, it just happened.

He looked straight into my eyes and (it felt like) into my soul. It was chilling and he carried darkness with him.

God reminded me of Eph 6 and what His Word promises about victory.
