Worship Song: “How Great Is Our God” https://youtu.be/xi0yLRX4d2M
Discord is hated by God. Discord can: Cause a brother or sister to lose their faith( someone may decide to turn the actions of their accusers into hate) — Cause a none-believer to lose out on salvation because of witnessing discord among what they perceive to be Christians. — Cause a new believer into turning away from the Lord because of the lies that have been told. — Cause a brother or sister to turn their daily walk with the Lord into chaos (this is due to the purposeful attempts to side-track someone by spreading discord — much like a dog would do when it sees a squirrel). I believe many true Christians struggle with daily attacks and some of which are spread by those proclaiming to be Christian.
Scriptural References to Discord (AMP):
[ Things to Avoid ] What leads to [the unending] quarrels and conflicts among you? Do they not come from your [hedonistic] desires that wage war in your [bodily] members [fighting for control over you]? You are jealous and covet [what others have] and your lust goes unfulfilled; so you murder. You are envious and cannot obtain [the object of your envy]; so you fight and battle. You do not have because you do not ask [it of God]. You ask [God for something] and do not receive it, because you ask with wrong motives [out of selfishness or with an unrighteous agenda], so that [when you get what you want] you may spend it on your [hedonistic] desires. …
Proverbs 6:14 Who perversely in his heart plots trouble and evil continually; Who spreads discord and strife.
Proverbs 6:19 A false witness who breathes out lies [even half-truths], And one who spreads discord (rumors) among brothers.
Isaiah 9:20 They slice off [in discord] what is on the right hand but are still hungry, And they eat what is on the left hand but they are not satisfied; Each eats the flesh of his own arm.
1 Corinthians 3:3 You are still worldly [controlled by ordinary impulses, the sinful capacity]. For as long as there is jealousy and strife and discord among you, are you not unspiritual, and are you not walking like ordinary men [unchanged by faith]?
1 Corinthians 12:25 so that there would be no division or discord in the body [that is, lack of adaptation of the parts to each other], but that the parts may have the same concern for one another.
We need to put on the full Armor of God –
Ephesians 6:11-18 (KJV)
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
